Somewhere in the Solomon Islands, Munda Point, New Georgia, perhaps:

I'm really impressed with the new Boyington set. Darned if the figure doesn't bear a nice resemblance to "Pappy:"

There's never been a better time to be a toy pilot collector!

Moe, is that a 1/48 HM 'Lulubelle'? It looks a lot like my 1/48 Franklin Mint 'Lulubelle'. -- Al

Hi Al,

Yeah, I guess that I'm busted.:wink2: It's HM diecast, but it's named "Lucybelle:"

I've got three L-belles, but this is the biggest (the other two are 1/72). If I want one in 1/32, I'll have to build it!

The figures and sign arrived, yesterday, along with JJ's Algy club-set.:D

Moe, another senior moment. I know it's Lucybelle, yet it came out Lulubelle. Go figure. At any rate, it is a fantastic dio. -- Al

the perfect back drop...I love it!

Thanks Mike,

To tell you the truth, the pics doesn't do the backdrop complete justice. I've put a pretty tight focus on the figure sets to highlight the quality that's baked into them. In the process, the background came out kinda fuzzy. Here's another view with a broader focus:

See what I mean?

And a second question for Mike or anyone else...

The two landscapes that I've posted to this thread are both formatted to 1200 pixels wide. However, they are displaying considerably wider. Anyone know why, or, better yet, how to remedy the situation?

-Moe

Always inspiring when you see another collector enjoying a new purchase.:salute::, Robin.

Is that your backyard Moe??? ^&grin Excellent backdrop to showcase that awesome bird!

Tom

love your background by the way

Don't know if anyone is interested in this, but here's the backdrop that I used with the new KC/AF sets:

Thanks for sharing Moe. If I ever delve into the War in the Pacific, I don't think I could find a better backdrop.

This dio and corresponding photos are great. I saw the Boyington figure at Sierra yesterday and it is even better in person.

Forget the backdrop, I much prefer to have the real thing! Where is it and how much????
