Bomber command memorial (1 Viewer)

Rob,

The Lancaster has got to be the Spitfire of the Bomber Command, imho of course. ;)

Jeff

Absolutely Jeff, was great to see them both flying over London again the other day.:);)

Rob

Absolutely - seen it several times with the BoB Memorial Flight and it is a great iconic looking plane.

But then I guess I always liked it because of the Dam Busters ...love that theme tune ...:):):)

Cheers

Gazza

Having lived in Lincoln for three years we used to see them quite a lot and, could cycle down to the stations and see them up close so, it was a great time. Iconic plane and love to see and hear it

mentioning the Dambusters earlier I can't wait for the documentary ''Dambusters Declassified'' narrated by Martin Shaw which, apparently sheds new light on this terrific raid
Mitch

Sounds good Mitch, any ideas when its on?. The raid sure did some damage in the valley below didn't it.

uksubs...

Fantastic aircraft the mosquito just too hard for me to call but, if I had to I would nudge the Lanc in the lead.

I've seen the Battle of Britain Lancaster flying low over my way twice this year ,just make you think how brave them boy were flying at fifty feet & you can see how they lost a lot of planes on the way out to the dam to flak :(

This was in our local park but was starting to deteriorate

its a fitting tribute and the sculpts inside will be awesome. Its well overdue and, will be a tremendous opening and a great place for those to remember the bravery of the airmen.
