Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL (1 Viewer)

Here's another angle showing some stuff that wasn't visible in the first shots.

Same here.......As long as the troops are entertained.....our job is done.

It didn't take all that long. It took about 15 minutes to move the stuff on the table. Then maybe an hour to get things set up, and much of that was spent trying to find where I had put some of the scenic stuff. I looked everywhere in the basement before remembering I had more stuff in the garage. The diorama drape, which goes on in just a minute or two, blends the whole scene together. The road just lays down and the trees are just stuck through the drape into the foam beneath. Place the buildings and the walls and fences and the pond and then set up the figures. Then it's time to grab the camera and see what you get.

This shot from the back corner surprised me with how it turned out.

Thanks for the kind words, Kevin, but you know very well that the other photos I sent you weren't any good, and you requested that I or my sister in law re-shoot them for you.

I nearly finished the post ww2 K&C book last year but have had a few issus so it has been delayed. I hope to have it finished in the next few months.

K&C Vietnam is a large part of it.

I wish Figarti or K&C would do some more Vietnam stuff. Thanks for posting the pics. Alex

Very nice Joe...Nothing like doing the background yourself, it adds a texture and depth. I don't like the photo terrain backdrops ( Except for just sky). Plus you built it, and the project is all your creation. Yes, it is a lot of work, but it pays off. We did a huge set for the Collectors Showcase Stewart Tank, yet you cant see most of it. But what you do see works. It took up a whole 4X8 plywood sheet for just a tight shot....Also I like the idea of creating new sets for different shots rather than recycling old ones.....and you do a lot of them......Keep up the good work. Alex

If your goal was to create a Hollywood sets you've exceeded it. The photos once again speak for themselves bring to life an event of an action that took place during the war between the states, Once again you've out done yourself with another outstanding display and set photos......The Lt.
