Bored Tonight...Post a Diorama, LOL (3 Viewers)

Like you my General I'm getting as much pleasure photographing my warrriors and finding that it's a great way of providing Mini Dioramas and a good excuse for us grown up kids to play with our toy soldiers. Great close up shots of the two Germans. Looking forward to seeing more.....The Lt.

Thanks for posting those pics, Carlos, I know you've been busy lately and I appreciate you taken the time to do it.;)

As you can see my display space right now is very limted, just three shelves in one of my wife's curio cabinets. This situation will soon be corrected when the room in basement is completed, lots of shelves with cabinets underneath for storing those pesky boxes and about 600 square feet of room for displays, dioramas, and more shelves and curios as the collection grows and maybe a piece of furniture or two.:)

Thanks Carlos and Fred for posting pics. Fred, you have nice quality pieces. I bet you are looking forward to your new hobby room. Once it is up and running the parcel trucks will be lined up to deliver.:) John

Thanks, John. I forgot to point out the WS-67 KT winter camo repaint in first picture that Alex did for me, great job! I'll see if I can impose upon Carlos again and have him post some pics of the soon-to-be new "digs" of the collection, or "man cave" as you called it in a previous post.:D My wife already cringes ("oh no, not more toys!") and the dogs bark every time the UPS truck makes it way down the street.

Fred,

Nice. Very nice. I am envious of your display space.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Thanks, Carlos. I'd love to have the kind talent you do for putting displays together. Any chance of you being the Boston area anytime in near future, I could use a hand unpacking all these K&C boxes that sitting in the closet, you can have all the creative license you want!:D

Thanks, Fred

Thanks, John. It's been almost a year in the making, my wife and I have been taking it one step at a time as we put the money together to pay for each part of the project; framing, rough electric, heat ducts, insulation, sheetrock and plaster, finish trim and cabinets, painting, Pergo floor and carpet on the stairs. Now we just need a counter top for the kitchenette area, not pictured, but where the little frig. goes for keeping the "cold ones", some hardware for the cabinet doors and something to sit on.:)

Fred

Fred that is a great setup for your collection. I love to see other collections. This room and Louis room is making me finish up mine but to many other projects going on also.

Fred, Looks you are going to have your own wonderful K&C museum. Very nice!

Thanks Louis, it will be mostly K&C, but there'll also be some Honour Bound and a few of the new Britains sets in there too, I'm really impressed with what those two companies have done recently, oh, and lots of Build-a-Rama and a couple of Nick Nasta's work too. Wish I could have it done as quickly as your room is being done, but it's been fun watching it progress ever so slooooooowly.

Thank you, Alex. I enjoyed the pictures of your display area you posted a couple of weeks ago. I like the natural wood/poly and glass shelves, it's really the way I wanted to go, but the painted MDF units were less expensive(in others words, I cheaped out), now I'm concerned about the tanks and figures sticking to the painted shelves, guess I'll have to look into buying some "grass" mats. Not sure as to whether to put sliding glass doors in front of the shelves either, I kind of like it open, less glare. Looking forward to seeing the progress of your display area, any bets on who finishes first, my money's on Louis.:D

Fred

Fred,

Is all that space yours or do you have to share it :( ? :)

Brad,

The main area, with the shelves and cabinets, is 12 X 24 and it's all for me and the troops.:D There's another finished area off to the side, not pictured, that is 12 X 13 and that's where the kitchenette is, upper and lower cabinets, counter top and apartment size frig., my wife wants to put a game table and chairs in there. I guess that'll be okay as there is still lots of room left in the main area and even in the hallway for more shelves and display cases and maybe a 2 X 8 table where George G. can help me set up a kick butt diorama.:)

While my museum will be 90% K&C, I will also be displaying some Figarti, Honour Bound, Heco and even some Frontline and a couple of big Trophy Boats.
