1874 Northwest Mounted Police
The "Mounties" were involved in the Plains Indian Wars in the last half of the 19th C. Their main duty was to enforce the "Queen's Peace" north of the Canadian border.

Great shots of a great collection. Some of the scenes look like the US/Mex war 1847 with attacks on Cerro Gordo or Chapultepec. Only know that because it's where most of the Civil War generals got first blooded as young Lieutenants.
That has to be a rare collection as I cannot recall seeing any figures depicting that war before.......well not this side of the pond anyway.

The Northwest Frontier Stuff is JM Miniatures or HM Miniatures enormous set "Saving the Guns at Maiwand", with the custom diorama produced for the set by Jim Hillestad of the Toy Soldier Museum, from the collection of Mark Hoffman, one of the 4 sponsors of the New York Toy Soldier Symposium.
As UKReb recognized, the other magnificent diorama (also custom built by Jom Hillestad) is of the Mexican American War. Unfortunately, I have no idea who made the figures. They resemble Mignot to me, but I can't say for sure.
