Boss lose house to thief!!! (1 Viewer)

As much as we'd all like to do what the boss did, was the thief found guilty in the end?

I have several close family members in law enforcement and in the local court system and I never get pretty stories about human nature from them, but it's the trained and legal law enforcement people plus due process of law that's the right way. I can't see that enforcing the laws on everyone is a weak position.

"Even in" New Jersey?

I dont get that. The Northeast and NJ are some of the most liberal states in the country.

Now down south, like in Georgia where I live, amongst all us rednecks, reactionaries and tea partiers, Id like to think the boss would get a hero's treatment!^&grin

That's a misconception that keeps fellow Americans divided and distracted and weak. Making a hero of the whiny bully of a boss would justify stereotypes of Southerners as ignorant, superstitious, and violent. We don't want that do we? I worked in Manchester, Georgia for 6 weeks in 1998 on a contract and liked the people and country.

Six whole weeks in GA? No doubt enough time that you have us all figured out...

I lived for YEARS in the North. I met plenty of ignorant, superstitous and violent people up there - but maybe they were just transplanted southerners...^&grin

Thing is, we actually dont care what New Englanders think of us. We are who we are. Plus, our weather is sooooo much better.

Actually, differening views keep us strong and vibrant. Its one of the ironies of a well functioning democratic system. Just ask anyone living under tyrannical rule.

I wanted to let you know that I had actually been South for longer that the numerous weekend CW reenactments I've been in, and if you met jerks in the North it proves the point that stupidity is a human and not a regional trait. There's a difference between climate and weather. We expect bad weather up here in the season but the temperate climate with real seasons is just fine.

I'm surprised that the employee was only cautioned (which I assume is not a legal term but used in its normal sense). That to me doesn't make any sense.

However, what the employer did makes even less sense. Sometimes you have think twice before taking an action and in this day and age (I don't care what country you live in) that kind of action is just bound to lead to trouble.
How about this...the employee angered the boss and likely created a boss who will have a hard time trusting people in the future...the boss humilated the employee which caused him embarrassment...both parties had there feelings effected...therefore I'm calling it a wash!^&grin
