Boss lose house to thief!!! (4 Viewers)

I swear there was a story where the Judge made somebody do something like this...punishment/embarassment/humilation (where a sign)??? If this is true and it is o.k for the justice system to embarrass & humilate, then the crime, even though done by a citizen shouldn't be a case of suit? The employer should then only receive jail time himself for acting like the law...not allow the employee to sue.

Thanks Simon. Seems somewhat similar to the US system, just labelled differently.

Ya know, I am with Rutledge, Mark and 94% of this thread.

I can't deal with the Coombya attitude, let's all work together. I live my life in realities and this happy Horse Manure of the "laws" is el crapo in my book.

If it were up to me, thieves would not have their hands.

I am not a working together, masses kind of guy, that is how we ended up with National Socialist, Fundamental Extremists, etc in my opinion.

Common sense should rule the day, guilty or not guilty, no in between. You steal, you pay.

Maybe I watch too many of the shows on the I.D. channel but it sickens me to see people brutally victimized and when they find the brute(s)they usually have a record 2' thick. There's no rehab for these people.Last rant.

Excellent post. I also for the first or second time have to agree with Rutledge!!!!!

"Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men."
Douglas Bader

Once again Mitch, your signature backs up my point.

Scott...

Its a bit like table tennis my quote but, Douglas Bader was not a low life leaching of society and ripping or theiving off any and everyone so, I again say, not in relation to criminal acts was the quote intended to be used.
That just seems IMO another justification for the parasite's that believe their wants and needs are in need of immediate gratification rather than acting in a decent manner and working for ones money rather than being a sponge and taking or stealing.

It seems we have a couple differing points of view here...and we could talk all day without convincing the 'other' side. Perhaps it's time to agree to disagree?

Sounds like an excellent idea Pete. Maybe we could also apply this to the Haig discusion and any discussion of Monty also :wink2:

OK, that's it. There is definitely something in the air. Im off to buy a lottery ticket! ^&grin

UDAHMAN, Mitch! :D

Mr. Cremer is lucky he isn't living in the PC USA. Humiliate a criminal overhere? Every PC advocate and their grandma would be screaming bloody murder. Cremer might have done what a lot of us would like to do but there is no way this would turn out well. Too bad. -- Al

Right. You are so totally right. Except for the judge who does administer wearing signs as an alternative to serving time:

http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/178386

It really bugs me to hear other American citizens complaining about how PC it is here and how others are "lucky" not to be here. I think it pretty clear what my thinking is on a statement like that :wink2:

I was just discussing this case this my Father-in-Law, a retired New Jersey State Police Major. Even in New Jersey, the boss was in the wrong.

The guy will squander his ill gotten gains and, be back to stealing very soon as he has not be shown that his actions are wrong in the first instance and will be ''cocky'' and think he can do this again.
Mitch

Mitch,

Does this man have a documented history that one can make such a prediction?

Gideon,

The cases of court ordered wearing of signs does not apply in this case.

Scott...
Thats just based on my experience of the criminal justice system and, the people who pass through it and the criminals who just either do not learn or do not care. One only has to look at recidivism the rates of such, who etc to say its not too far off the mark.

I have never come across a ''one time thief'' as once they get away with it its easy to do it again and again. Have you?? it does not mean its not so but, in my experience, and thats all I can draw on, both professionally and academically that its a rare event. Events on this forum and hobby have recently shown this very point very clearly. My only point is the regularity of these stories and acts and, the fact that I can fully sympathise with the members of the public who take the law into their own hands. It may be wrong but, IMO hanging a sign on a person who has done such an act is not worthy of any fiduciary compensation. Rightly, or wrongly, and thats the debate we are drawn into, the public see such things as incredulous.

"Even in" New Jersey?

I dont get that. The Northeast and NJ are some of the most liberal states in the country.

Now down south, like in Georgia where I live, amongst all us rednecks, reactionaries and tea partiers, Id like to think the boss would get a hero's treatment!^&grin
