Has anyone noticed the terrible packaging for these two new planes. They are flimsy cheap cardboard boxes that Rick should be ashamed of. Reminds me of the boxes for The Long Tom which I had to get three to finally receive one that was not broken. When you buy a plane of this quality it should come in a box that you can be proud of. Larry.

a few of us have spoken away from the forum about the expense of the aircraft and, AFV's and, what you have raised. I have seen other manufacturers where you need a shoe horn to remove the product but, my jaw nearly dropped when I recieved my first Figarti aircraft. My Mosar was damaged and, I had to remake the side rails. They are, how shall we say, unique!!!

I have not seen the box for the Long tom but, will see one later this week as I am fixing some damage on one of these items

I agree. The packaging looks horrible.even for the owl it was the same. Good thing is that all my panes arrived undamaged.

I haven't seen the packaging for the the P 38 and BF 110 but the packaging for the Owl was one big box.

In all fairness, the packaging is commensurate with how K & C ships their wooden warbirds.

Brad..

I have not seen packaging for the K&C warbirds but, its easy to see how one can be shocked at the packaging, when maybe, only used to seeing the polystone packaging for aircraft. People may expect similar. I know I was

Ha ha Larry your funny,

I have all the Figarti Warbirds and have found NO problems with the packing materials used to ship these items.

Sound like your just pitching sour grapes . . .

Hi Larry,

I respectfully disagree with you. Per their safe arrival (Figarti P-38 & Owl) I know that the boxes were designed with one and only one goal-a safely delivered product. My experience inclusive of four others that I know of, confirms that. I can not speak for others, but I am not a box collector. I would rather have a quality product safely delivered at a lower price, than pay more for elaborate packaging. That being said, I do admire the work that companies like K&C put into their packaging but please note Brad's reference to their wooden warbird line and respective packaging. I believe their goal too was/is a safely delivered product rather than adding additional expenses to special packaging. I think Rick, Peter and the Figarti crew should be proud of their improving trend particularly in regards to packaging-they have come a long way.

Thanks,
Marc

Itec, if you went through anything like I did with those cheap boxes used on The Long Tpms (same as these birds) you would not seem "so funny".

Isn't there always room for improvement? Let Figarti know your views, and your idea on corrections. Then they can make adjustments if they wish.

Bingo. You just broke the code. Why do you think I posted here? Larry.

The box for the Figarti P-38 was not fancy I will admit.... but.....the item did arrive safe and sound with no damage and is likely the best 1:30 scale plane produced to date by anyone (including K/C planes)......The Quality and Detail is excellent irregardless of the box.....I usually don't display boxes anyway :wink2:....I am looking forward to the Figarti release of the "California Cutie" Version P-38 and the Stuka.....I would like to see a better box no doubt but for me it's not a game breaker.....Many excellent products recently released by Figarti....keep up the good work boys....{sm4}{bravo}}

Can someone post a photo of the box so we can see what it looks like.

Really don't need a photo. Just take a U.S. Post Office flimsy box (but thinner and plain brown) and you have it. No picture, very faint lettering on the top of the box to let you know what is top/bottom (if you don't by chance open it upside down). Just let the buyer beware of what they are getting so you do not open it upside down. Really a disgrace for the cost of this fine plane. Larry.

Sorry but I don't take anything at face value. Just my legal training.

Well the box my Owl came in was plain but it was not flimsy and the main thing it came in one peace ! I also noted that all Figarti New stuff just come in plain black boxes with no writing on

I don't, for myself, care about the box art. They go in the loft or similar so, all the art and pictures is wasted on me and, I think if it could reduce prices all the better bin it now. My comments were based on the damage I have had on figarti pieces I have myself and, seen and heard from other collectors. I must admit I was surprised at the packaging of the Owl and expected it on the ME110 being used to polystyrene packed tight it was a big change but, as others have said it arrived safe so, thats all I care about.

I would think, warlord is peeved that so much of his stuff came broke and was concerned at the fact that this could have happened with the aircraft. Its true Figarti has issues and, damage etc is one of them. However, with the paint issue I would not sadly hold my breath waiting for the manufacturer to correct it anytime soon

By way of comparison, here's how K & C ships their wooden warbirds. The box is nothing special and by the packing you'd think it would get there damaged but I've purchased 8 and not one has arrived damaged, which is what the key is: not the box but to get the product there safe and sound.

If you get a aircraft for £800 or so or, more wrapped like this why not do it with the polystone??
Mitch

That's probably for K & C to answer but my opinion is that you're dealing with different types of customers or markets. With the polystone planes, you're using packaging to help sell the model in a competitive toy soldier market. It's no different than when you go to a store and look at various similar products and pick one that appeals to you. Manufacturers in all businesses are going to put their product into an appealing package, hoping that you'll buy it, especially if the price differences aren't all that significant. The same may be happening in the toy soldier industry.

The wooden warbirds are a little different because you're not worried about an appealing package. You're not going to the consumers but the consumers are coming to you to buy a limited item, which is very expensive. We just want to get it safely, which K & C does (particularly because K & C ships airplanes overnight; lessens the risk of damage while in transit).

Don't know if that answers your question but that's my take on it.
