Got to tell you chaps I'm one very happy collecting bunny today!. We have today seen a superb ME109 downed on English soil, such an evocative set of that 1940 summer when the harvest was of Luftwaffe planes as well as wheat. Very much like the camo on this one and the blades are nicely done too. I might remove the canopy as many pics of these downed 109's show it missing completely

It kind of puts my effort in the shade, but now I'll have two downed 109's ;

And then we have the figures. Not only are these just spot on and again feature in many ME109 pics but every one of these sets is going to feature in a different dio altogether that I will be starting in Jan. I'm not interested in starting any arguments with this but as we are in the K&C area I think its fine to say that for me this is why they are No1 .Excellent sets, with real interest and depicting a pivotal moment in History that saved this country and was the real beginning of the end for Nazi Germany. A big thank you to K&C you've made this RAF collector very happy!

This figure in particular features in many downed aircraft pic from Britain summer 1940

Me 109 look nice Rob and glad your happy about the new release witch will also work well with the new bomb disposal team

Thanks guys. These new home front type sets are so good and a whole new area of operations, lots of dios to make in the coming months!

Cheers

Rob

I'm very happy with these new releases Rob! They have made my day! Love the downed 109 been waiting for this one all year & glad its finally here, the other figures all compliment it nicely & are top of my list to buy!

Craig

Cheers, Rob! I know this is just your cup of tea!

Rob....

Great thread. Have been quite busy today so, literally just seeing the dispatches now. Surprised at a downed ME 109 but, firstly, its very nicely painted and, would just like to say straighten the props and put some wheels on and sell it as a pristine version.

I think the brit troops are excellent and, really like the brit assisting the Luftwaffe pilot. I think the previous set fritz the war is over will work better with Von Werra's aircraft but, I really like the FOB sets and how well they will fit with the RAF range.

I was expecting the other brit sets but, patience and all that. I really like the way the FOB and RAF ranges are developing. I think your right about the canopy being removed was one of the things I thought of when I looked at the aircraft.

Thanks Mitch. I love the downed ME mate, yes it could be made pristine I'm sure , but the joy with this one is that its lying in a field in southern England{bravo}} I fully agree with you that the two figure set with wounded Luftwaffe Pilot is just excellent, he looks very much wounded doesn't he, must have been a frightening experience landing here knowing the whole population wanted to kick your teeth in!{eek3} As you say the way the RAF/FOB ranges are melding together is really good, and we also have the bomb disposal sets on the way, its becoming a sort of Home front range all of its own.

Mitch, on studying the pics some had canopy and some didn't, so not sure what to do now!

(apologies for so many, just love looking at these!)

Rob...

I suppose its going to be down to what you fancy doing when you get it. As you say, as many pics with the canopy as without. I also like the ARS website and, have spent a lot of time on it. The pictures are excellent and a great reference for people not aware of how many came down in farms and fields all over England.

I know the authorities went mad about collectors and souvenir hunters but, who could resist taking a piece. There was enough of them!!!

I know, how could you not nick something!:wink2: Between this website and the 'Battle of Britain -Then and now' book I've got so many ideas for dio's, just have to narrow it down.

You also made a good point about the ME, with straightened props, wheels etc it would make a nice pristine version, Wayne might buy it then:wink2:

Rob

Wayne may buy this one and could have it badly shot up by the brave spit pilots and its crept back to its airfield somewhere in France. I am sure that he has enough stuff to make a great scene from that scenario. Though with the Molders version and JJD's it may be down the list of priorities

The BOB book is a great resource.

You know Mitch, I can't see that happening!:wink2:

Its a superb book, mind you the whole series of books is excellent. I remember one issue that showed a Tiger I still in a french hedgerow in the 1970's, I wished I'd known I'd have loved to have nipped over and got some pics. There was another that showed a field full of German motorbikes, just sitting there for years.

It must be three christmas shows ago that we gave Andy that photo of the downed ME109 at Duxford. Well the wait was worth it!!!!!

Well all that nagging paid off in the end.

Glyn, I knew when Andy took the photo away with him he was serious about making it:). I think I'll take him a pic of a Bolton Paul Defiant on Saturday:wink2:

Hope to see you there

Its nice to see the FOB series is alive and well with the release of an English Bobby and some Toms. Looking forward to 2012 and more additions to FOB which is one of my favourite series that K&C provide. The downed Me-109 looks great however for me the soon to be released BOB version is on preorder and I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival! :cool:

There are two figures here that are as yet unannounced, the guy in the blue shirt and the NCO looking guy at the back;
