Britains Durbar Question (1 Viewer)

Hi Vamp,

Those are some truly wonderful pictures! Your Durbar collection is growing nicely and you have some great figures and sets. I hope to see even more pictures of your Durbar collection in the future! Thanks for sharing your collection with us.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

I'll second that....

Do any of you guys have a picture of this set?

Britains Ltd. Set# 8957 Ceremonial State Elephant Guard:confused::D

Hi KV,

I have them posted in the thread by my Imperial Elephants. Its a 4 figure set that has them with extra long pikes to protect the riders on the elephants. I cant post another picture right now because I am still on the road but you should be able to see them in the other photos.

All the best

Dave

Hi Vamp,

If you look closely at the picture below, you should see four pikemen. Each one is standing next to an elephant. These four figures constitute the 8957 set of the Ceremonial State Elephant Guard. I hope you can see them clearly enough to be of help to you.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Hi Pat,

Great to see the picture you posted. Hope all is well there. I lost out on several Marlborough sets from Vectis and I am not happy about it since the winning bidder bid the same amount as I but they were in the room. I am going to send them a question regarding this because the bid was the same only I wasnt there so I didnt understand why they didnt make them bid one increment higher then mine. Oh well I will let you know what they say.

All the best

Dave

Thanks you guys! I saw them on ebay and thought I cold make a set. I am looking for details on the headdress. I appreciates the effort thank you.:)

Gentle Friends,

I recently acquired a wonderful set of Britians Bikanir Camel Corps figures. I thought some of the Delhi Durbar fans might enjoy seeing them. I believe they are among some of the nicest Durbar figures issued by W. Britains. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Hi Greg,

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, multiple sets would be great fun. And,...they would make an impressive display. The set is a little difficult to come by as it is very popular with Britains collectors. It took me five separate attempts to finally acquire this set on eBay.

I am planning to attend OTSN next month and I, too, hope we will have the opportunity to meet. I will be roaming the hotel halls in search of plunder beginning on Thursday evening. I hope to see you there!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Hi Vamp,

Yes, After five separate attempts at it, I was finally lucky enough to land this set. As you know, it is a beautiful set. I am proud it is included in my collection.

No, I was not bidding against you. I won this set some time ago and you were not one of the bidders. I wish you every success in finding and acquiring this set. I know you will appreciate it as much as I do!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

Pat or anyone, when I go to the London show I'm going to be looking for the Britains elephants. What is the going rate for these at the moment or what should I be expecting to have to pay (if I can find any?).

Hi Hugh,

I have sent you a PM with information that I hope proves helpful to you. Good luck with your quest for adding Britains Durbar Elephants to your collection! I shall look forward to your success!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

Hi Hugh

The best Thing I can tell you is try very hard to find the first elephant. Set Number was 8848 it is called The 1903 Delhi Durbar. It is the most difficult one of the 4 made to find.

I will drop you a PM with some ideas on finding them.

Best of luck and Good Hunting!

Dave

Will take photos as you suggest but won't be able to post them until I get back to Canada. Thanks for the Durbar tips.
