Britains Durbar Question (1 Viewer)

Thanks Dave! I can see I will have to make some adjustments. I took some other liberties with the figur but, I should have them ready by tomorrow!

Hi Guys,

Here is a picture of my latest pick up. The Maharaja of Patiala with Escort. This was the one set that had elluded me for a very long time. I finally have finished the entire Britains Durbar Run. I guess its time to work on the Mutiny Sets.

All the best

Dave

Hi Dave,

The Maharaja and the Escorts are very, very nice. Congratulations on completing the Britains Durbar run. I have no doubt that it feels wonderful to have the complete run. It is something of which you can be very proud! Thanks for posting the picture of the final set which completes your collection!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Hi KV,

Not counting my Marlborough sets I have 38 Britains Durbar sets including the Dias and a good number of other sets from Britains that I display because they were there like my combined Grukha Band from the Jubilee series and the Hollow Cast Band of the 9th Lancers. Still working on getting some sets from the British Army in India Run like the 5th Bombay's you just nabbed, so I will be at it for a long time to come but at least I can focus on some other areas like the Crimean War sets and the Mutiny Sets. So I am very pleased to say the least. Now I just need to find space to display them all together:eek:

All the best

Dave

Great job!

I have only 1 Durbar piece left that I want, the all elusive 8846 Elephant, one day I will find it!

I don't think I have all 38 sets, but I must be close, I skimped on some of the regiments due to space constraint.

All said though< I still think it is one of the most diverse, interesting and displayable series Britains ever did.

I will post a pic when I am done my mini dio, it is not historically accurate b/c of space, but it is interesting, hint, I have Elephants on the stage!!!

To each his own right,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Very cool! I look forward to seeing the elephants on the stage. That elephant is very hard to find, its also my favorite.

All the best

Hi Tom,

I really look forward to the pictures you will post of your Durbar display. As you know, the Durbar series is captivating and it will be great fun to see how you have developed your display.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

There were some on ebay a few months ago. I think that is the one pat told me to get . It is very nice. Good luck finding it. Dave it looks like I have a long way to go. Maybe I can get rid of the K&C junk:eek: Sorry Andy just kidding....... about the junk part.

Hi KV,

It always is best to take sets like this a little at a time and since I dont collect as many lines as you it is a little easier for me but it still took a very long time to find all the pieces at prices I could deal with.

So take your time unless you find one of the Elephants we were discussing.

All the best

Dave

Dave I am going to spend more time casting and less money on the other lines. I tell you one thing though, the army in India line is closer to the Hocker stuff in size! What a difference!

Hi KV,

I dont have any Hocker to make a comparison too. Can you take a picture of a casting with a Hocker and a curent Britains or Marlborough figure so we can see the difference.

Thanks buddy

All the best

I was referring to the Britains Indian Army 5th Bombay.

I will be posting the castings today most likely.

Hi KV,

I see...

Still please post some pictures for us. I also bought the 5th Bombays from a fellow in So Cal the other day so I am happy about that. I received two sets in the mail today one is Nicholson and the other is Old Frontline Glossy so I am very happy made for a nice surprise in the mail box! I will post some pictures soon especially of the Frontlines They are great!

All the best

Dave
