Britain's Zulu War (1 Viewer)

LT and Randy glad to see you are both safe after the storm.

Another great picture there LT.

Mike

That technique takes the cake! How did you ever come up with it?

Just seeing your post now--like the Lt. I was a victim of the " New England Ice storm of the century" last week.

Randy

Randy, my middle name is "Danger"!
Glad you guys are back and nice and warm!
Mike

I really like the two gloss 24th's from Britains. When did the "new" gloss Zulu series start? With these two in 2007? Or now in November 2008?

This picture was volunteered by Lt. in 2007:

... and have been ordered.

I apologize for such basic questions, but what kind of melee bags and boxes are you using in your photography, Lt.?

I trust that the title "Zulu War" of the Britains line strongly suggests that characters beyond Rorke's Drift will be made. Is the new officer (albeit of the 24th) one of those who would not appear in a Rorke's Drift scenario? I only remember red tunics – including those worn by officers. Why is that?

Andanna,
I'll let Lt answer about what fine battle supplies he's using. As far as the Blue patrol jacket on officers, Chard and Bromhead were the only Army officers present at RD and both had red jackets, Chard in RE dress. There is no reason why they both could'nt be wearing blue, merely personal preference on campaign. Many at Isandlwana had blue since they were on detached or special duty. Of course this is oversimplified, but hey, research about your soldiers is so fun!
Mike

It is interesting to note that prior to the engagement at Isandlwana the Zulu king had told his warriors that the enemy would be wearing red. I believe that no officer wearing red survived and the few that did escape were in blue patrol jackets. -- lancer

Andanna the mealie bag walls are by Conte which I remove the rear ground cover along with others that I made using DASK Clay. The Boxes I'm featuring I pick up from an individual who was providing them for sale to the model railroaders and I'm not sure he's still actively providng them.......The Lt.

Lt., you did an excellent job - particularly on the melee bags. I really like them and what you did with them.

Cheers Joe, excellent.

As my wife spent the day shopping with our daughter at the post Christmas "sales" I had a very enjoyable afternoon watching both ZULU DAWN and ZULU, one straight after the other. They have given me some great ideas to play;)
