Isandlwana Picture

Plasmapulse,

I hope you don't mind but I love the picture! Isandlwana now demand that you add some wagons and campfires. This picture could become a masterpiece by itself! Adding figures would be an added bonus. Also how about some dustclouds on the left for the guys advancing to the rear! Mike

I'm glad you like it. I googled for a good wagon and they will be added. I'm still working on my skills and trying things out you know. Photoshop 101.

Sorry I didn't realise you were creating this photo yourself. (Hope I didn't offend)

The second version does look much better. Keep going !! :)

As this is a in progress 'backdrop-for-Britains-ZW-figures' project I thought nobody would mind me posting this here. How do you guys feel about the whole picture. Does it work or should I ditch the camp and troopers.

Can you blow the picture up?

Can you blow the picture up?

Just click it, it opens in Imageshack, and there you can click it again. The original size is about 70cm in width. I'm working on a revision though with wagons and fires (as suggested). I'll try to post it with figures in front of it tomorrow or so. It won't be the cutting edge of photoshopping-art but it will probably suffice as a backdrop.

thebritfarmer; any suggestions and comments are always welcome. That's why I post here.

I did not know you could do that. Cuts on bandwidth I guess. Once you have your figures in front . You may never even know what is behind it. Depends on overall size does it not? I am sure this will be very nice as a back drop. Look forward to see your next shots.

Hi Joachim,

I just wanted to congratulate you for initiating some really nice creative work. Your backdrop is improving with each change and/or addition you make. I think the final result will be a backdrop of which you can be very proud!

Also, are you finding Photoshop a program that is reasonably easy to learn? I have considered purchasing the product, but I am uncertain how quickly I could learn to use the many features that are included in the program.

Again, congratulations on a great work in progress! I look forward to seeing the final picture!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

I use Indesign CS2 as well as Photoshop CS2. I'd had a Indesign course and learned some PS basics there.
PS has many functions so it will take time to master (I don't master it, just trying functions and finding out about them when I need them). It's a great program. Let me know what (if) you decide before you purchase it.

I've updated the pic, but I need to go back when I have the time as it's too pixelated at points.

I also continued here with some try-outs. http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?p=103359#post103359

I would maybe tone down the white canopies on the wagon like you did with the tents, otherwise it looks excellent :):):)

Looks fantastic!!
Opens up yet another hobby with the computer. When it's finished, move it to the classified section. I would love to buy it! Maybe the Lt. would put some coin down as well as others. Mike

Hi Joachim,

Thanks for the information. I will let you know what I decide to do before I take any action.

Warmest personal regards,

Ask by Spitfrnd for a photo comparing all three lines on the Conte section of the forum I thought I'd also post the results here in the event it should be asked. As if said many times a picture is worth a thousand words......The Lt.

If I may ask, how do you post such great pictures here. The jpeg limit seems to kill the size and hense detail of anything I have come up with so far????

Thanks much, I uploaded over there but how do you get the pictures to show here. All I have managed so far is to paste the link, which takes you to the picture when clicked of course.

If you bring up your album, it should show a load of thumbnails. If you left click (once) on the 'IMG Code', it automatically copies to pasteboard.

Then come in to Treefrogs, create a message and when ready, right click, then 'paste' and it should show up a load of text, which when you submit your post, will show the photo.

Thanks much, sorry to be dense about this but couldn't find that in the forum instructions and I have not done online photo sharing before.
