Britain's Zulu War (2 Viewers)

Update; the pouches should be white and the figure should be straight.
WB will send me a replacement that has been personally selected and inspected by WB's Big Kahuna. Thank you Richard.

Joachim

I had problems with my 24th Foot Redcoat too and Richard is kindly replacing it as well. Mine had a deformed rifle and paint colors that ran into adjacent areas. It is great that WB stands behind its product at the highest level.

Another of Britain's Zulus arrived at The Lt.'s Land of The Zulus....The Lt.

Lt , I hope you got all you want of the first batch. Sierra is completely out of the Osprey series:( They already reordered but I did not get the rifle one:(. The clamshell Zulus they have plenty of;)

That sounds like a great way to spend 2 days. Exciting plans have been hatched I am certain. I guess I'd never heard any mention of a back half of the Hospital building from anybody...just a thought that crossed my mind while imagining a mock up of the entire compound some day. You would sell at least one unit to this customer for sure. Good news about the curved barricade pieces...I figured those would happen in time. I guess biscuit box walls and some wagons for the back barricade between the hospital and store house would be another thought. Currently I don't have a space large enough for such a large display, but would envision a table top sized set up down the road.

Thanks Ken.

Yes, Toy Soldier Shoppe was out of these as well, but will be getting more soon I think. :)

Thanks to the excellent pics posted here by The Lt & others I am intrigued by the Zulu war. Looks like I may have to start adding a few pieces to my Britains collection. I wonder if there are any plans to add some mounted figures to the Britains line up as they certainly would be added to my collection :D

Thanks for the excellent pics guys and also to Ken for his updates.

Mounted figures in gloss have been announced for 2008 through the flyer and catalog. I don't know how WB plans to develop the matte line but I expect mounted poses for those as well at some point. Ken or Richard could shed some light on the subject unless they don't want us to know yet.

But Joachim just think it'll be like opening a present on Chrismas morning when either Richard or Ken or both announce what's being develop in matte....The Lt.

The WWI mounted figures got me pretty excited as to what could be done with ZW mounted troops. There are so many mounted figures I would like to see in matte and gloss; Induna on captured horse, Chelmsford and staff, lancers, dragoons, NNH, mounted police and a bunch of irregulars. Dismounted sitting by their horses (in action), and of course dead horses (and troopers) and more. Trophy and Little legion both have some interesting poses. LL has a mounted trooper dead in the saddle with a assegai stuck in his back and a zulu trying to overcome a troopers on horseback by strangling him on-the-go. Useful for inspiration. Maybe some horsedrawn artillery and (ox?!)wagons. Yes, it probably would be like opening a present on Christmas morning.

Jeff of the six Zulu figures that have been released I only have three and Mr. Dave the figure in the photo is from Conte's Keith Rocco's Rorke's Drift Set......The Lt.

Thanks Lt., the Conte guy looks very nice. How do they look next to the new Britains Zulus in your opinion as I know they did some nice sets for Rorke's Drift in the past. There is a set with Chard, Bromhead, CS Bourne and someone else that I have considered purchasing in past.

Mister Dave they say a pictures worth a thousand words decide for yourself. The Zulus are in 1/32nd 56mm and if I'm correct the Conte figures are 54mm. Ken please correct me if I'm wrong on the Conte figures......The Lt.

They are nicely done figures though they do appear a wee bit smallish next to those Zulus. It will be interesting to see how they look next to the 24th foot guys once they start arriving next month. Thanks for indulging me with the photo Lt.

Nice one. They were screaming to me as well "buy us a bunch" but I resisted and only got one. For now that is.

As this is a in progress 'backdrop-for-Britains-ZW-figures' project I thought nobody would mind me posting this here. How do you guys feel about the whole picture. Does it work or should I ditch the camp and troopers.

It's good photo, the tents do seem to stand out though.....maybe when there are some figures placed in front they won't seem as noticable.
