Britain's Zulu War (3 Viewers)

Hi Ken,

You are killing me please post a teaser soon! I'm even in the club and waiting for the next installment of the Standard which I hope has some of these figures pictured. So when will we see another Durbar band or Elephant?

All the best

Dave

Hi All! Plan on seeing static poses for the Redcoats range and action poses for both the Gloss Traditional and the Matte finished ranges. How else could you convay the desperate fighting at Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift?
Some of you will probably like the W. Britain Collector's Club Christmas set this year...(hint, hint).
Ken

Oh well, I guess I have to join now. Was planning to do that anyway soon to receive the flyer but it makes it much more interesting this way.

This sudden increase in members should convince either Ken or Richard to post something new on the ZW subject ;).
However, I don't know which CC figure to choose yet.

And I have a glossy figure suggestion that might sound rather dull but wouldn't it be nice to have a Chelmsford character sitting having tea while he receives intelligence on the Isandlwana battle? You know, to have an extreme contrast with the rest of the series as well as being somewhat historically accurate. Gentleman having tea in gloss. How victorian.

I could just see his face  or somethink like he just poured something disgusting into his tea.

Nice ideas Joachim - good to see.

Now the only question is Darjeeeling or Earl Grey?

DO you really have to ask????? Oh I say what poor form really! I must say. You bloody Yanks! Darjeeling, why that is pure rubbish! Oh the indignity of it ! Oh the shame!

BTW Nice sets!

Hi Guys,

I prefer Irish Breakfast Tea but Earl Grey would do in a pinch

Great idea for a vignette

Dave

This is really one for Ken - Ken where are you??? I tell you it is down right scary what he knows and what he can find out - in such detail! I am glad he is on our side!

I am kind of wondering - considering the high fashion of the time for things Chinese and the martial aspect of this tea party -if Gunpowder might not be just the thing?

Though I must say I do agree that Earl Grey is much preferred.

My preference would be Constant Comment with the rind of oranges and sweet spices........The Lt.

That is too funny. That would be like toasting the Queen with Irish Whiskey:D
:D:DCHEERIO McVAMPIE !! I'll toast anyone with any type o whiskey!!!
As long as someone else provides the whiskey. If I must provide it will probably be a good single malt aged scotch..Craganmore comes to mind!!
Or Guiness of course. It's the best with toy soldiers!!
O.C. :D

I can bet that whatever flavor he was drinking, it was a Twinings product. This company was founded in 1706 and as a matter of fact the company still has a shop[ at it's original location at 216 The Stand, London England. One of my favorites is English Breakfast Tea: A combination of Black Tea from Ceylon and India although this blend became popular about twenty years later!

Hi Guys,

I would agree it was a Twinings Product of some sort. I would speculate it was a variation of Earl Grey but its hard to know for sure unless some one has a source of commisariate papers.

As for the Irish thing well me mum war n O'Connell and O'Toole so its in me blood...

Had to mention bllod for you vamp

All the best

Dave

I'm more a coffee drinker myself . When I drink tea, it's usually Earl Grey.
Capt. Picard from Star Trek drinks it all the time so it should be everyones number one choice. Even Chelmsford's.

Hey KV

I keep mine thin with Jamesons so no shamrock aftertaste here!
