Wayne,
you know that my favourite theatre of war is BOB.
88mm were used as field artillery in the BoB and were extensively used in the shelling of Bastogne.
You will have to adapt the riders in the Hanomag. Equip them with a scarf and paint their hand in grey or black to simulate gloves and you will have a more acceptable winter scene ;No rolled up sleeves !!!!!
guy:)

I agree, but the only problem in having the sets in BOB are the Figs. They mostley have summer wheather fatigue you could re-do them in AK theme. If they wer more cold weather dressed you
could do it,and make it BOB:salute::

Wayne mate,
Forget the BOB. Too much bloody snow. Stick with the strength. A nice clean desert Armour war. Rommel said he didn't want any SS in the Afrika Korp.
Get Obee to repaint in AK colours like he has just done for me. He has just finished those three sitting wounded blokes and the German Pak 38 into AK colours and they look outstanding. He will post photos soon.
Cheers Howard

Wayne..

The half track and 88mm could easily work for the bulge and could be done for that theatre. the ardenne offensive did not see all the heavily winter camo stuff people think. The short sleeves on some of the figures are the only problem. However, with a little bit of milliput or similar new coats and sleeves could easily be added to these troops to make them winter fitting.

I think they would work as DAK also with as little effort as changing them to bulge.

Wayne mate,

If you get these repainted, you will be leaving a lot of money on the table. Sell them and you'll have more money for AK.

Cheers,

Brad

I agree that the SS seated soldiers are too lightly dressed to be repainted and in my personal opinion i would just leave the vehicles alone and maybe look into CS bulge troop carrier and also consider the Battle of the bulge 88 by the collectors showcase. but if you think the repaints would look cool have at it!!! ^&grin

O.k., I'll bite...anyone care to speculate; if a repaint really would devalue a mint condition piece, apart from a mint original piece? (sorry if this the same context in Jazzeum's reply, if I misunderstood?)
Thanks, Ollie_D.

If your pieces are mint condition with original boxes.....I would leave them as they are. Get a CS 88MM and repaint it AK colors.

I would repaint them DAK for all the reasons the fellows have mentioned; however, I have the sense that Andy is going to surprise us one of these days with a desert 88. No insider information, just a gut feeling. After all the 88 is one of the most iconic pieces of the North African campaign. And like someone said, you can get a lot of money for that 88.

CS repaint...That's a pretty good idea! And confirmed my gut feeling.
Thanks, Panzer Ace!
Best,
