Chicago 2008 (1 Viewer)

I can hardly wait, I did a search on mapquest, I am only 21.37 miles away, est. time 31 minutes.

I missed the show last year, I drove my Dad to his Air Force reunion, it was in Dayton, Ohio. So, I did get to see the Air Force museum. There was also a WWI reenactment there at the time. So it was a good trip overall.

I will be at the show this year. Has anyone been there on Wednesday night?

Can anybody tell me what is the schedule of the Chicago Show ?

When does the "Room Trading" start ??

When does the actual Show take place ??

When is the K&C Event ??

Is there a FIGARTI Event ??

Questions....Questions...

Ron, see my answers below.

When does the "Room Trading" start ?? Normally starts on Wednesday, but doesn't really pick up steam until sometime Thursday.

When does the actual Show take place ?? Sunday.

When is the K&C Event ?? There is a dinner hosted by Treefrog, Sierra, Troops of Time and Bill Sager on Friday night, where Andy talks.

Is there a FIGARTI Event ?? Yes, this takes place on Friday at lunchtime where Rick talks about the company and unveils new products. Based on past experience, a figure is given out. I'm sure Rick will post details as we get closer to the Show.

Does anyone actually get nervous about two weeks before the show that something, illness, accident, etc could cause you to miss this event?
I know I do! The day or two before I leave I actually hate answering the phone fearing it could be bad news.
I,ve dodged the bullet for the last 17 years, although a few years back I had to leave on Friday night as my wife had to have her appendix taken out.
Well at least that is one part of her anatomy I don,t have to worry about.

Darn those wives and their appendixes:mad: I hope you told her how you felt.:D 17 years is a pretty good run though. I will be helping my friends at Sierra. Coming in Friday around noon. I will be kilted so no one will have a hard time figuring out who I am.

Well - I have a major conflict on the the Saturday of room trading. The daughter of good friends is getting married that evening - so I will have to miss probably all of Saturday's festivities.. In addition I probably won't be able to take more than a day of vacation - but will be able to attend the other evenings and the show on Sunday morning...

You do what you can.

Sammy,
Hear, Hear! Probablly won't be able to go to my first attendance, unless I get a non-resident tag for early archery season, which is almost impossible! Love to meet these great ambassadors of this wonderfull fulfilling hobby! Pining away Mike

Sammy, 18, I always look forward to meeting people at the show. Really the people there are as great as all the goodies on display. How can one get serious over toys? I know people do. I came from the toy train world. Those guys are nuts! Some of them know exactly how many rivets are on a prototype 1889 Vulcan 040 Switcher! I mean really! That was a hundred and twenty years ago! So me serious? With a name like Kilted Vampire...Ich globe nicht!

I am glad you enjoy my sense of humour. I learned from the very best... Monty Python, George Carlin, Bill Cosby and Michael Collins. My uncle not the revolutionary. At his funeral, my Aunt Mary said it was the first funeral he was at where he was not in the back of the church telling jokes!

Maybe, just a little Moe, Larry and Curly as well to round out the individual?

Hey Jim,
Just come for Friday room trading. There is definitely enough room trading going on Friday to make it worth your while for that day of vacation. There are more festivities going on Friday than on Saturday anyway.
