Chicago Show 2013 - Figarti (3 Viewers)

That great news about the Pershing but would of thought a king tiger would be a better seller {eek3}

King Tigers will evaporate...patience man, we have Panther meat to feast on! The Pershing will likely sell as well as the original JS2 for the same reasons...people have been wanting one for a long time & realize it will not happen again for a very long time

I always like Fov first version of the Pershing and let hope now they make the British Comet tank as well :rolleyes2: no Pershing for me but will get the Panther

I really appreciate all of the great photos Treefroggers posted from Chicago. I will be in Chicago to run the marathon in 3 weeks. Too bad they couldn't be in the same week!! That B-25 is tempting me more and more each day; I have not bought a plane in nearly a year, and I may cave on this one. Such a good deal for a stunning look craft. Well done Figarti! I always love seeing what you debut in Chicago.

I'm not familiar with the Comet...when was it operational. For the early '45 Rhineland offensives or later than that?

For the Panther, is the prototype referring to Figarti's model or that it is a "prototype Panther?" I am just wondering about the turret. I see that it is a G, and I think I remember seeing models that had the "lips" around the back but I forget what this signifies. It isn't a standard Ausf. G, right?

Not following you

On the back of the turret it appears there are two flanges or lips of steel/armor that extend out. They run vertically on either side. Is this the sign that it is a later version of the G? Most pictures of Gs that I see don't have this feature. I believe I have seen it before, but cannot remember in what context.

You can see the flanges or lips in this picture.

Prompted by Phantom Warrior, I have been reviewing pictures of Panther Ausf. Gs and every time I see the rear of the turret the "prominent" flange is there. The Ausf A and D models don't really have a flange like the G, but there is definitely a thin lip which I had never noticed. Thanks for your help!

This Panther's place on my wish list was never in doubt, but this lays to rest that question.

I looked at all the turret drawings in Doyle's book & they are drawn the same way. It's probably lighting effects that are throwing you off. He's the only one I know who has personally measured these tanks

Detail looks really good. It seems to be a really good model. I wonder what the compromises are if the price - as reported - has been reduced versus the other tank models from Figarti. I somehow cannot believe that increase of the number from 100 to 200 would alone do the trick.
