Chicago Show 2022 Pictures (2 Viewers)

My quick note - it was an outstanding show for a lot of reasons. I saw a lot of sales happening around me, I saw large buyers, medium buyers, small buyers and visitors. Normal for any show. There were less dealers - that is a sign of a maturing hobby, but I did see some younger dealers selling too. I also saw some kids, always a good sign. As I usually say and this show was no different - quality pieces sell, good bargains sell. I saw a lot of both. All in all, it was a great time and worth the trip. It is a great example of where the internet doesn't show everything that is available and also that not all collections are WW2 ONLY> :)

Great time - thanks for all of the comradery and I appreciated visiting with folks I have not seen in 2 plus or more years.

Sales - very good, a good number of my favorite items (they are all favorites if in my collection!) are now in the hands of others.

Very happy to hear you had a great show, Tom…I only wish I could have been there!

’Chicago’ has always been one of the major hilights of my ‘Toy Soldier Year’ and as I have said oft times before it’s a ‘MUST’ for anyone who loves toy soldiers…It really is the ‘Mecca’ because it is a multi day fiesta that provides the opportunity to meet up with old friends and spend morning, noon and night exploring dealer’s rooms and often discovering all kinds of ‘gems’ and long lost treasures …often at a great price too!

Congratulations to all those who took part and special thanks to my good friend, Carlos from San Antonio for taking all those great photos and hope you all liked this year’s Special Show bag.
All the best,
Andy.

Andy, we missed you but I got the bonus of catching up with you this year at the Westcoaster!! Look forward to seeing you again soon either at the Westcoaster or definitely next year in Chicago! The pizza was calling your name and I am sure I can rustle up a JD and diet too!

Oh , one thing I missed in my mini report - much to my wife's chagrin, the buying was good too!!!!!!! Found some old KC, Trophy, and some new Metal Shed, Bill Hocker, Nate's Garage, Aeroart and I even participated in Ray's bargain room this year with some really neat oddities including a Miller Figs Bazooka man. I just couldn't resist.

The craziest thing I heard sold at the show was an original Heyde circa 1920s in the box Alexander's Elephant set. It was amazing, but way out my price range as I heard it went in the 5 figures x 2!

very well said tom, it was good getting to spend time with you all including the sniper and the vulture and schrecks imitation of andy. Haha
i also foundf alot of different things i did not think i would run in to and at good prices. See you all next year and maybe at the west coaster again

Greg is correct, we have 3 of the JG Hougoumont pieces available. Inquiries at the Show, but no one walked away with them!
In the future we may list for sale, otherwise they may also wait until next year's Show.

Thanks for all the photos Carlos! I have not compiled mine, and Aron took video of the line entering the Show. We will update our Albums and YouTube soon! YouTube

So far just my initial Room walk-thru is up. Next time I will walk be slower, I heard I was moving too quickly
