You just can't leave sugar laying around...it attracts ants of all types. -- AlI re-watched "Them!" last night and it holds up pretty well. Quite a cast with James Arness, James Whitmore, and Fess Parker. Leonard Nimoy and Dick York also make short appearances. Whitmore's character made me laugh. He starts out as a New Mexico police officer, then joins some type of mini-task force that has him firing a bazooka for the military, traveling to DC to meet with the chiefs of staff, and assisting the FBI to interview witnesses. He is ubiquitous in the war against the giant ants while hardly saying anything. Great title. If they had called it something like "Invasion of the Giant Ants" it would have been less memorable.

"Make me a sergeant in charge of the booze!!"
This movie is an all timer for me, terrified me as a kid and as you stated, it's held up well over the years.
Great job with the ants in the movie considering when it was made; it would get horrible CGI treatment if it was made today.
Bunch of them on TCM tonight (Tuesday) starting at 8pm with The Time Machine, followed by 2001, Five Million Years to Earth, Marooned, and 12 to the Moon. So, if you plan on staying up all night...:wink2: -- Al
