Welcome to the forum, jberto!

Folks, let's cut the new guy some slack here!

jberto mate, as you can see posting on the forum can be a bit of a steep learning curve. Just so you know the topic you've touched on has been flogged to death in other threads over the past year of so, hence why the lads are giving you some stick.

Generally speaking, you'll find most members are good blokes who are very passionate about the hobby and are more than happy to share their experiences, good or bad......and of course there's lots of well intended advice, mixed with a fair bit of cheek along the way.^&grin

Welcome to the forum mate!

I have to agree with what others have already expressed, collect for enjoyment, not investment. If you happen to make a tidy profit, if and when you decide to sell something, then that is a bonus!
Personally I think that the KC AR range is one of the finest available. If somone can snag some at discounted prices, good for them. I always try to get a deal when I purchase anything on secondary market. Just like buying anything else in life. If you purchase any TS and sell within 5 year period, I think you are risking a loss. I buy for the long term. Just my 2 cents of course.

Trust me, I had no intention of ever selling any of my collection. After looking at all that was available I thought there were more creative options collecting Napoleonics so I switched collections. I sold a few AR pieces I really didn't mind parting with, I was just a little surprised at the process of the whole thing. I agree with you that the AR pieces are beautiful (the British Dragoons are some of my favorite).

That was offsides, eh, especially from a relatively new member.

Prost!

I apologize if I came off brash, but I am simply asking a question to generate conversation on the topic. I would much rather engage in polite conversation, but I also don't see the relevance of posting something that does not add to the conversation.

If I may offer you some friendly advice, as a veteran member of the forum to a new one, I'd ignore posts that you think don't add to the conversation, and stay on topic. It's very easy to come across as disagreeable and to develop a reputation as a troll. You raised a valid question in your original post, and there is worthy discussion. But you lose the moral high ground, if you let people draw you into that kind of sniping.

Prost!
Brad
