College Football 2012 (1 Viewer)

That was brutal. I really don't know how else to explain it. I knew after watching Alabamas first drive that ND would be in for a looong night. NDs D didn't show up at all the offense looked horrible and special teams had some bad breaks. I know someone mentioned that it might have been to fast for ND and I think I agree with that statement after watching last nights game. There is no way ND should have been in that game. Hats off for having a terrific year but I would have much rather enjoyed seeing a game between ND and a FSU or Florida where ND might have stood a chance. Alabama was just too good of a team. Alabama looked like a pro team in a college uniform.
Well thankfully my friends called the hounds off after the score was 28-0. So instead of 6 shots it was only 4. Between the beer and shots my night quickly came to an end. Once the game had endedmy buddy drove me home and I literally slept for 13hrs. I have not drank that much since my college days and let me tell you I don't miss the hang overs one bit. I had today off anyway so thankfully I didn't have to miss any time at work.

Sorry about that Joe, glad your friends called off the dogs and you didn't get totally hammered, not much fun about that the next day for sure.

I sent you something today that when it arrives will cheer you up....................:wink2:

First, the Bama game and now this bizarre story. Not a great couple of weeks in South Bend. ND apparently sat on it through the national championship game and let Brent make a fool of himself (yet again) by recounting it. It's hard to believe Te'o could be duped into this mess. He is either the dumbest of the dumb or an outright liar. No wonder he played so poorly in that game:

Notre Dame says a story about Manti Te'o's girlfriend dying, which he said inspired him to play better as he helped the Fighting Irish get to the Discover BCS National Championship, turned out to be a hoax apparently perpetrated against the linebacker.

The university issued a news release Wednesday after Deadspin.com reported it could find no record of Lennay Kekua existing.

To realize that I was the victim of what was apparently someone's sick joke and constant lies was, and is, painful and humiliating.
” -- Manti Te'o statement

The university says Notre Dame coaches were informed by Te'o and his parents on Dec. 26 that Te'o had been the victim of what appeared to be a hoax. Someone using a fictitious name "apparently ingratiated herself" with Te'o, the school said, then conspired with others to lead him to believe she had died of leukemia.

The university said "the proper authorities" are investigating a "very cruel deception."

On Sept. 12, Te'o learned his 72-year-old grandmother, Annette Santiago, had died. Te'o said he was told just six hours later that Kekua had lost her battle with leukemia.

After Notre Dame's 20-3 win over Michigan State on Sept. 15, Teo said: "My family and my girlfriend's family have received so much love and support from the Notre Dame family. Michigan State fans showed some love. And it goes to show that people understand that football is just a game, and it's a game that we play, and we have fun doing it. But at the end of the day, what matters is the people who are around you, and family. I appreciate all the love and support that everybody's given my family and my girlfriend's family."

If it turns out that Te'o was lying to begin with and then lied again once the story was about to break to make himself the victim, then it's going to be a major clustermuck. This is about as low and twisted as it gets this side of a criminal act. On one level, it's a bit humorous that the media fell for it without any confirmation. On another level, if it was intentional to get attention and publicity for Te'o it's disgusting and bizarre. The guy either needs mental health treatment or should be shunned out of the NFL.

It will be interesting to see how this affects his position in the draft. If this was all a big lie, who would want him. If he was duped, it says a lot about his judgment (or lack thereof) and his stock will fall as a result.

Almost anything goes in the NFL if you are good enough. Just look at some of the guys who play with their many arrests. The Cowboys had a guy on the sidelines the week after he was involved in a drunk driving crash which killed a fellow player. Ray Lewis is a hero to many despite his murder charge. How does the kid of the guy he murdered feel when they see that clown dancing around on the football field every Sunday and people wearing his jersey like he is a hero? I doubt Te'o's situation will affect his NFL status much even if it should. What is even more irresponsible is having ND portray him as a victim of a hoax when all the facts are not yet known and it would be difficult to reconcile his statements and actions with a scenario in which he was duped. I suppose that is possible, but why rush to defend him until the facts are known after sitting on the story through the NC game?

Nails it for me; listening to him ranting and raving about God and Jesus and quoting bible verses is a bit much for me, two of the six people who really know what happened that night are dead, a third (the cab driver) is living somewhere on top of a mountain of cash that got thrown his way. How ironic after the Broncos game last week this clown was yelling "NO WEAPON!!!!......NO WEAPON!!!"

This whole story is bizarre, still can't make heads or tails out of what is going on; was she some facebook friend of his that "became" his online girlfriend?? Did he ever actually meet her? What the heck is going on?

This is like that show Catfish were some poor slob meets someone online via Facebook, is going off of pictures of some smokeshow the person is using claiming to be that person, the guy falls madly in love with her based on the false pictures, then when he finally gets to meet her, she's some wrecking ball living in a trailer and admits she made the whole thing up.................:rolleyes2:

I think what we all need to remember during this terrible tragedy is Te'o's fake girl friend is dead and we should all keep the fake girl friend's fake family and fake friends in our thoughts and prayers. R.I.P.

Wow - the Notre Dame starting QB has now been sent packing. After the NC blowout, and Teo soap opera its hard to believe things could get much worse. But they did.
