And both Georgia and South Carolina needed miracle comebacks to win their games. Florida appeared to be sleepwalking through that game like they had no interest being there against a team like Louisville. Should be a good game tonight between Oregon and Kansas St. They could put 100 points up on the scoreboard.
Georgia played a pretty good game, they always have a way of making games exciting, Nebraska wasn't a terrible team either.
South Carolina vs Michigan was a great game between 2 pretty decent teams. Michigan is a decent team, better than most of the NCAA if not for lack of consistency at times. Still, they beat most teams so that was a good win.
LSU, Les Miles blew that game, offensive play calling in the second half was atrocious and I give Clemson credit, they didn't quit and were better coached in the end.
As for FLorida, this is what happens when a team can't get motivated to want to play th egame. Florida wins this one 9.9 times out of 10. They came out flat and never got going.
Fortunately, FSU didn't pull the same agains Northern Illinois, the offense sputtered, but the D was rock solid. If the coaches at FSU ran the ball all night, could have scored 50 very boring points. A lot of pundits say FSU under performed this season and they are right, but it wasn't the talent, in my opinion, it was the coach guiding the talent. Jimbo recruits very well, just not so sure of his head coaching ability (even though we went 12-2). What I mean is, not sure he can win a Nat. Champ which is what the alumni expect.
Anyhow, back to the SEC and bowls in general, when you have terrible matchups, this is what you get. I think everyone would have preferred Georgia in the Orange against FSU and probably would have preferred an LSU FL rematch or FL vs Clemson. The money grab dictates all. Can't have too many good teams in one bowl nowadays. Heck, the Orange Bowl should be basking in the glory of attracting, wait for it........1300 NOrthern Illinois Students who traveled to Miami.......................{sm4}
