Thanks for the tips Joe....you're photos prove your methods work well.
Terry I used the macro setting on my camera for all of the photos and the close up were taken 6 to 8 inches from the figures. Sorry for the delay in replying......Joe
Spent some time putting together and setting up to create a number of photo dioramas of a section of the wagon park under attack at Isandlwana which will appear on various threads of the forum. It took some time but was a great way to spend time playing with and photographing my WBritain Zulu War Sets and figures..........The Lt.

Thanks. I tried regular auto focus in the first shot
and macro autofocus in the 2nd shot.
Big improvement. Now to work on sharpness. Go to manual aperature mode?
