CS Panzer II repaint (1 Viewer)

Got this from Brian at the WC. Been waiting for a break in the weather. Some of you may know my penchant for tanks in Panzergrau. Before shots of tankett.

First step was to remove the decals and smooth those areas over. Then black prime the entire vehicle.

Letting it dry in the sun. Warming helps solidify and strengthen the paint. I start with black because the weathering will lighten the overall paint to look gray.

Quick coat of black gray. Then chipping and rust. picking out a few details. Will repaint commander and finish detail work.

Looks real nice. I've a weakness for panzers in gray. That Mk.I is a good model and a great choice for the repaint. -- Al

Not finished but a clear cote done more rust, steel, and dirt. Added the few small details. Made a small scene with NMA and CS pieces. Building is Conte. Still going to make a radio antenna for the Panzersphawagen.

Still have the commander to repaint..

I live to inspire Joe! I really like painting this stuff. Thanks Jeff! The commander is almost done. I found that I need to do the road wheels a little different as well. I saw a book at Barnes and Noble that showed some great examples of mid-production PzKmpwgn I

Interesting that you paint in black and then weather down the colour. Never heard of that combo before. I mix my own Panzer grey colour do you this approach better than using panzer grey from the onset??

Sorry Mitch this was done awhile ago. For doing the dark gray I will do this all the time. It is easier to lighten it up with various grays and whites. I used spray paint. I am less likely to miss a spot this way. If I do miss a spot it will look like a shadow. It just seems faster. Especially when I do not have Panzer Grau!

I really liked doing this.
