Unique subject matter here, Chris. This is really neat stuff. The construction battalions and their work finally get their due. What a superb idea to execute in a dio. :salute:: -- Al

Well done Chris !

Hoping to see you continue this journey from D-Day to V.E. Day ?

Steve

And so your story continues . . . Very nice Chris . . .

What a difference a day makes{sm4} Really like the breaching of the sea wall scenes. You have one heck of a flotilla there. All very nice. Robin.

Thanks Steve, have at least one more coming. Don't think I have the patience to go all the way to VE Day. You have no idea how tedious it was to glue all the individual handles and caps on those jerry cans! {eek3} Chris

Thanks for the comments guys, it really make the time and effort making this dio worth while to read those. And thanks to everyone for the like votes. Chris

Once again the accessories make all the difference between an average and terrific scene. Robin.

Chris, there are sooooooo many items in these dioramas to talk about I don't even know where to begin.
BUT on two items ... you did an incredible job on the Lindburg model Landing Craft ... they LOOK INCREDIBLE. WELL DONE!

As mentioned the number of details and items that you incorporated raises theses photos to a much higher level.
It will be darn near impossible to outdo this D-Day setup

Are most of the Barrels, gas containers and such 1/35 Tamiya or similar?
They work so perfect …. but the work to do all that details exhausts me just looking at the photos.

A huge congrats, Sir {sm4}

Larry, thanks so much for the very kind remarks. The fuel drums and jerry cans are Miniart, based out of the Ukraine (who knew?), and as you mentioned, Tamiya. Figs are a mix of Verlinden, Bronco, and Miniart. Knew about Tamiya of course but not familiar with the others before starting this series. Vehicles are Tamiya, jeep and truck, AFV Club, WC, Miniart, bulldozer, Mirrir Models, dump trucks. LCMs are by Trumpeter. I'm NOT very proficient at kit modeling and the camera and spray paint hide many flaws. My language during production made the dogs blush. ^&grin I found 1/35 scale between companies to be every bit an issue that has been discussed at length for the 1/30 figs on the TF.
One detail did not show, and spent some time with putting the Special Eng Bdge shoulder flash on the figs. IMG_3979 (4).JPG There is one other dio, "An Act Of Kindness" in the series. And one or two more to follow.

THis may be more info than you wanted but it's always a pleasure to discuss TS.
Chris

I can relate to the Plastic Scale Lies, way back in the day when I assembled multiple 1/35 kits I purchased several US vehicles made by a well known Japanese brand that turned out to be rehashed 1/32 kits...disappointed!
