I dont know... every week I am enthralled by a different manufacturer. But when I film Collectors Showcase their body motion conveys such a sense of urgency and tension.

Good work Brian

This is from the upcoming Episode IV of THE GREAT CRUSADE.

Superb construction Alex and concur very much with your CS figure comments they do have a certain fluidity about them quite unlike any others

My CS Rebs are amongst my favourite troops and when placed corrrectly in a dio....well..... they somehow just bring the scene to life

Thanks Men

UK....I closely looked at their ACW stuff at a recent show and they were excellent. I was very tempted. I do collect some ACW but currently only Britains and FL which work well together. Thier larger size would open a can of worms for me and start a 1/30th ACW collection.

As far as WWII I am hitting TCS very hard I have decided their large size is the best fit for main stream 1/30th stuff. Of course I still use my Figarti K&C and TGM, but TCS I feel is the best fit.

I currently have 8 King Tigers, 6 Tigers, 6 Stugs, 4 Shermans and many others. Alex

As always, great looking dio and images Alex.
When is your photography 'how-to' clinic going to start ? I could use one (lol) and you've clearly got the gift.

I would love to see a clinic, but not held by me. It would have to be held by someone who knows what they are doing. I am so far out of my element, I am a modeler not a photographer and I struggle getting the pics the way I want them. Most of my work actually looks better in person, because that is what I am better at. I hate the time I have to devote to the pics, it takes away from my modeling time.

The main photography challenge is depth of field, getting all elements of the pic clear. That is done with the F stop which has to be in the higher numbers, but that keeps the shutter open long so you cant shake the camera and on and on and on............................................and on

Keep playing around until you get something that works for you. Also never use a flash, use studio lighting, there are several inexpensive lighting setups.

These are untouched photos, with no effects. They were test shots.

As much as I dont like photography it is interesting to preserve your collection on film in it's own world, it makes me enjoy my collection more. Alex

My camera will go to a F Stop of 36 for very deep scenes, the shutter stays open so long it is incredible. Alex

Did you repaint the jumpers they look awesome, great pics look out John another repaint heading you way..................:wink2:^&grin^&grin

I really appreciate the complements on my photography, but I have NO photography formal training and any success I have had is due to some reading and expeiramenting, which any of you can do. I gave a few tips on a previous post here. I do have a very good camera though.

As far as repainting. No the jumpers are not repainted they are washed with a 50/50 mix of black paint and water with some white glue which dulls the finish. I sometimes also use pigments or pastel chalks which wash off. Alex

I agree totally about the photos.Taking the pics and setting up the scenes is where all the fun is ! Great Shots !!!
