Delivery day!!!! (1 Viewer)

...my main goal in participation in last weeks threads was to try and help all the dealers/manufactures...move what I considered "old dead inventory"...

so for the short term...;)...this increase is a good thing in my opinion...

1) My dealer is moving old dead inventory...a good deal...

2) I'm getting a piece that will appreciate 30% in 2 months..

A "Good Deal"???....Will that 30% appreciation in 2 months be in real gain or will it now simply be your "old dead inventory"....time will tell and to each his own......I guess that K/C should have raised their prices even higher that way we can get an even better deal:D......Sorry but I think I would rather buy the New First Legion Stalingrad 150mm Cannon with Crew...

A great Monday!! hopefully my Russian scout team/ Russain anti-tank set, plus the new winter coated German officer will be here today:smile2::smile2:. anybody have any deliveries coming as well?? come on U.P.S can't wait to here the "ssccreetch" of the tires:smile2:...Sammy

I have my first Cuirassier and another British Light Dragoon arriving tomorrow. Too bad they don't deliver until the end of the day. I'm now just waiting on the pre-release of the Brunswickers.

I have a package from First Legion on its way, however, I am unsure as to where it is in the UPS system. My tracking number shows it departed Dallas last Thursday, but no updates sincethen . Don't you hate that!

I have the winter Panzer III (14.Pz.Div.), the Hauptmann and the MG34 team in transit. Mine have to cross the Canadian border so there is always some delay.

Hi Noah,
I would not worry , your package will get another update scan when the truck arrives in your location (State) and is unloaded in the hub and then another when it is loaded to the package car and out for delivery . I know the in-transit scans are the worst :wink2: I bet you a buck I know what you ordered :wink2: Regards Gebhard

What?! You know what I ordered?^&grin

Yes, you are right about the updates. And I don't mean to knock UPS, as they are really reliable in my experience. It is just the unknown of when the delivery will be is killing me!

OK guys, my orders just arrived and since I'm the first one to report on the new winter coated German figure I'll do it here live...just a second gotta open the box very carefully, be back in a second.........the report is he's one of the or if not the best WWII figures I have and I have most all of them, the detail in the coat is perfect, the cold in the facial exspression even looks cold, I really like the detail in his hat as well, if this is the detail we will have in our winter WWII sets were gonna be very happy being cold!!!thanks again Matt and First Legion for a homerun!!!!! now off to look and my new Russkies...Sammy

I got a marching British 5th figure, plus the drummer from this set a few minutes ago. I have to say I am very impressed. Have you ever used a magnifying glass to examine the FL figures more closely? That is when they are most impressive - tremendous detail!! I only have 3 colonial militia so far and am trying to decide whether to buy 2 of those a month or 1 militia and 1 British. Have to apportion the funds, since I buy lots of other FL and K&C.

Why yes I have ^&grin I'm still blessed with 20/20 so the "tremendous detail" is noticeable right out of the box , but I do pick up a magnifying glass on occasion just to take it to the next level . That to me is just one of the reasons I collect First Legion the closer you get the better they look . Most other Figures in the Matte by manufacture category have what I call the Monet look ... that is they look OK from a distance and if your brave enough to take out a magnifying glass for a closer look you may just find yourself asking why did I just spend my money on this when for a few bucks more I could have had something . Something that does not look like your child colored it and then outlined everything with black crayon to give it a little fake detail .:salute:::salute:: I do appreciate Monet's style I just like my figures painted in the Realism style .:wink2: All IMO of course . Congratulations on your fine new pieces Regards Gebhard

Just got an email that I can expect my first shipment of British 5th on Thursday...

You will love them! I am thinking of getting one of the flagbearers next. If they are anything like the drummer - WOW!!

How is the detail painting on the drum? Matt had mentioned a while back that he was really proud of how the drummer figure turned out.

That is one of the things that most impressed me about the drummer. There is a mounted figure on the drum and other ornamental details that are extremely well done. The ropes are a nice black and white pattern. There is a nice weathering effect. From the face, to the uniform, to the drum, this is a top notch figure.

I should be receiving 5 FL crusaders very soon... then I will have a total of 12 figures for the Crusader collection...

I'm not a big Nap fan , have a few books, but I have 12 FL Foot Guards and some Highlanders, waiting for more. I bought them cause they're just too nice NOT to have in any collection of TS.

From that description, it sounds like an excellent addition to your collection. You basically described all the things Matt had mentioned about the detail painting on this figure! I hope to pick up the drummer in my next order and I hope you enjoy your new figures!
