The night fighting shrike… Here’s yet JJD FW-190 post; however, I received the new ACE-211 FW-190A8/R11 night fighter model yesterday and it’s a beauty!

John outdid his previous efforts with the quality of the paint, mottling, and weathering on this model. The radar antennas come pre-attached and mine was perfect right from the box.

For my display, I just switched out the aircraft model and figures from the Priller FW-190 display I posted pics of a couple days ago. The figures here are from the JJD Spanish Civil War Condor Legion sets COND 05P and 06 and have been partially repainted to more closely resemble WWII-era Luftwaffe personnel.

This FW-190 was a night fighter and the antennas on the wings are for the FuG 218 Neptun J3 radar system the aircraft was equipped with. This aircraft was also modified with a pair of flame damper fins over the exhaust stacks, which John has replicated. Overall, this is just a unique and interesting variation of the FW-190 for Kohn to depict.
