Since a few of you mentioned that this figure's coat looked a little too glossy (and I was thinking the same thing), I decided to put a flat finish over the LW029 pilot to cut down on the gloss. I think it turned out reasonably well. I took some pics of him this time with a couple of 1/32 FW-190D-9's (Doras) from 21st C.

If you used a camera flash it would have had an effect on the gloss of the figure. Cool pics ....

Much, much, much better effect with the flat finish on the jacket wwiibuff and very nice planes by the way

Much better. Maybe following releases will follow your example. Simple repaint which, makes the figure look more fitting with the aircraft

I have matte KC figures that have gloss application to equipment that seems to simulate leather. I like the mixing of the paint styles on figures. It appeals to my glossy as well as my matte collecting habits..Michael

Thanks guys. Here are a couple "before and after" shots (made with the basically the same lighting) to see the difference.

Michael, I understand your point about the leather, and I have several figures done this way as far as being a matte figure with gloss leather items (some by K&C and some by other manufacturers also), but I think that gloss paint is just a little too shiny to simulate leather. It doesn't look very realistic to me on a combat soldier out in the field. Maybe on a dress uniform or boots that remain constantly polished or something like that. But that's just my opinion/preference.

I like the dulled down jacket. And I like the Doras. Nice pictures. -- Al
