Thanks for the great comparison photos Frank. Excellent work. Considering that the FL Panzer III is no longer available; the ED Panzer III is the only option in a true 1/30 scale. Perhaps given this competition from ED, FL needs to revisit its decision to discontinue their popular Panzer III. ED is certainly making a mark in Toy Soldier armor IMO.

I must agree, Eagle Design was given an great opportunnity to SATISFY CUSTOMER DEMAND and they did just that..:salute::...I and many others have for long time now requested a re-relrease of another FL Grey Panzer III for Stalingrad (or Stug III) with a different turret number...But now that is obviously no longer necessary (no offense but FL missed that opportunity.to sell more grey Panzer III's) A bad decision IMHO.....No problem....These ED Panzer III's are the answer....They are well made and at a very fair price point.....I am hoping that the New ED Tiger Tanks will be just a good as the ED Panzer III's and if they are, ED will be on the right track to success............Also I noticed a planned 88mm Gun in the works WOW

There is such coincidence!!!
ED was the manufacturer of Collector Showcase before. And becasue of selling CS models without permission,CS stop cooperation with ED.
If you have ED 251/Tiger and CS 251/Tiger at the same time, you will find the answer.
As a CS fan,I hope CS to carry out an investigation and take of evidence. And I hope someone will do it.

Eagle Design produces some great 1:30th Scale products at fair prices...Obviously some 1:28th scale competitors like CS (who mis-represent and claim to be 1:30th) are not happy about that fact :rolleyes2:.Just sour grapes & That's the bottom line:salute:::salute:::salute::

I wonder who was responsible for the incorrect wheel arrangement on the TCS Tiger I. The first TCS Tiger I was 1/30 scale with the correct wheel arrangement!

They have a Stug III in development and since they offer Winter along with other versions of their so far released products I should think they will be doing the same with the Stug. Hopefully they're be released sooner than later !

ED panzer 3 is a little bigger than FL panzer III.. I used to have both and compared them side by side. Wish FL would re-release Panzer III..

Which do you think was the correct scale, FL or ED?

We've been asking them to do this for a long time...They said no......Good news is that it's not needed any longer from FL because the ED Grey Panzer III 1:30th works just fine and it's alot less expensive.

The FL Panzer III is still a nice piece.. also it’s got the mg and tank commander. I had a chance to buy it this weekend , but I couldn’t come up with the funding.. But yes, FL would be smart to reissue it.. I just wish we could put FL, ED, and TCS together and it would be a perfect world !!

I received my ED panser 3s today. I was a little underwhelmed right at first out of the box, however I do think they would be fine with a better weathering effect.
Would anyone have a suggestion on a painter and a idea of general cost? One of things I do like is that I have always wanted to have multiple tanks of the same type in a scene and depending on cost of painting this makes it feasible cost wise.I dropped it on a table that to see how it would blend with the Conte and Wbrits

The best way I have found to weather a Panzer is to use colored chalk dust lightly applied. The nice thing is that if you do not like the effect it wipes right off. The effect of worn metal can be applied with a graphite pencil to sharp edges. The graphite has a gunmetal sheen that perfectly emulates worn metal surfaces. The techniques will not damage the original paint. You can do the weathering yourself, no paint or painter required.

Thank You,
I have been trying to learn to do some things myself but painting worries me as it's final. However I am finding that making the diorama material yourself is as fun as the collecting. I will try tonight, and see hows it goes.

Chuck these Grey Panzer III's are pretty EZ to paint and alter....Remove the turret decals with acetone on a q-tip then repaint that area with German Grey Tamiya Acyrlic Paint (it matches almost perfectly)....then apply different/varied turret numbers as you see fit....I really like your diorama bombed city scene:salute::

A simple way to remove decals that will not affect the paint with a solvent is Scotch Magic Tape. Apply a strip over the decal and lift it off. The decal comes off with the tape and the paint is unaffected. Dry transfers or water slide decals can be reapplied at the same location. Acrylic paint are soluble in Alcohol or Acetone; so be careful of what solvents are used, especially when the type of paint is unknown. Always test a solvent on a hidden location to test the affect it has on the paint.

I agree with Frank that Tamiya Acrylic paints are very good and they clean up with water or Alcohol. They are available on Amazon. I use them myself on plastic model kits.

Thanks again,
Not sure I'm willing to start removing decals yet thou. But I am going to try to weather the winter panzer myself this weekend. If i did remove decals where would I get replacements.
There is no way I can paint them myself.
Chuck
