Re: Early Pz.IV-Figarti and FL Compatible ?

Guys,
I'd welcome feedback (or maybe there's an old thread somewhere) on the compatibility of Figarti Armor with FL. I'm not trying to start a 'scale war'... just made my first FL armor purchase (winter PkwIII) and would like to add this Figarti PkwIV to an eastern front setting if it works. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks !

The FL Pz. III will be 1:30. The Figarti PZ. IV should also be 1:30 but I haven't seen it in person so I would confirm that it is. The FL figures are 1:30 and will look the correct size next to either tank. The Figarti figures will be bigger than the FL figures but there is only a single half figure with the Figarti tank so that shouldn't be a problem.

You want to be sure that the Pz. IV looks longer than the PZ. III. but about the same width. The pz. IV is about 15" longer which at 1:30 is only half an inch.

Gidday Mike

Checkout my thread under "Panzer IV in the Sandpit". I have it displayed with a FL AK Panzer III. My thread is not all that old so you should be able to find it easily enough.

Thanks much Tom, Tommy and Terry, your feedback really helps a lot.
BTW, Tommy, what a great looking collection you've built...awesome. Tom, really love the sandpit dio.

Re: Early Pz.IV-Really Like this Tank

I went ahead and 'took the plunge' on the Figarti early PkwIV and am quite pleased with it. My goal was to match it with FL figures and vehicles and I like the way it works in that context. I bought the FL armor figure loose off ebay with the hope to use it with this tank...oops, just can't bring myself to cut him in half to fit him in the cupola {sm2}

Re: Early Pz.IV-Really Like this Tank

Matt will make a P4 someday :rolleyes2:

I think that FL will eventually do a Grey Panzer IV (with the rear stowage bin which I would prefer)...I think it is a very likely possibility for the Stalingrad Series.....Therefore I decided to pass on the Figarti Grey Panzer IV which I thought was a bit too large scale against the First Legion Panzer III.......I going to wait and see.........Hopefully Matt and First Legion has this iconic German Tank on the way.

I agree, it'll arrive some day...I just lack the patience (lol) and wanted an early version PkwIV to compliment my early ETO collecting. I was in agreement with Blowtorch, I preferred the rear ammo storage compartment-but once I got this tank, it REALLY like it as is.

I have gone through this over and over with my collection....It seems for the most part FL only fits with FL, so I am using my Panzer IV with K&C and Figarti grey uniform soldiers.

Mike..

Nice pictures and they look like they work well together. FL and Figarti seem in size to match quite well to use easily with each others products.

Thanks Mitch, I'm comfortable with the Figarti PanzerIV mixing with FL. I'd purchased the FOV winter PkwIV version first, but just found it too under-scale for my liking (anybody want one?).

I have seen the FL Germans used with Forces of Valor and now Figarti, and they SEEM to fit. As we all know Forces of Valor is on the small side and Figarti is on the big side, so how could this be.. As I said before FL basically only fits with FL.

This is not a big deal because I have been looking at all of my stuff lately and many things dont fit, there are so many combinations it would take a paragraph to go through them all.

So I guess if it works for you do it, there is no right or wrong.

This has been a big concern for me peronally and I am carefully going over my collection and filtering out stuff that does not work for me.

Here is a fit I did find John Jenkins Panzers with FL Germans. I hope JJ comes out with the WWII versions of the Panzer 1's. Then it is Blitzkrieg time !

Alex, I hear exactly what you're saying...FL seems to be a 'tweener' with regards other makers (I'm NOT trying to create a scale war). I've just decided I prefer the 'slightly larger' Figarti line (not to mention the high level of detail that comes with it) to go with FL.

Mike

There is no scale war, you have your right to call it as you see fit.......I would much prefer the Figarti also.....It is just that this size thing across the board can be annoying when you have a multi manufacturer scene in mind and the stuff just does not fit well together.

I found another good match up, K&C's standard 1/30th Sherman with 1/32nd ONWTC Rangers or Britains US Troops....... Go Figure.....
