East coast storm (2 Viewers)

After Sandy I contacted a generator company and there were a few stops and starts, a couple of the sales reps left and so forth and it finally got fully installed in May. For those who are thinking about it, you should get one that runs off natural gas. Having one increases the value of your house.

I wouldn't have been too happy if I'd missed the Quarter Finals tomorrow!

Sammy:

Connected through Phoenix enroute to Texas on Tuesday, airport temp at 7:30pm was 111. 111 at 7:30pm? What is the low at 2am 99?

Hey Jason, it's been terribly hot more then usual this early Summer but thank God the monsoons are kicking in, temps dropped by 30 degrees this afternoon once the storms moved through!!! Heading back East next week, might have the humidity but at least no 110+!! Yea, it's a dry heat alright, no it's hot as hell kind if heat...Sammy

A five minute storm yesterday afternoon knocked out power here for tens of thousands. No water, power, telephone etc. Imagine the disruptions. It's hard to understand why they don't bury the lines underground. We live in a reactive society that prefers to pay a higher cost on the backend than to be inconvenienced upfront.

Last night, power went out for a few minutes and the generator kicked in. This is the fourth time this has happened in the last few days.

I think the fall could be very bad.

For those who are on the fence about a generator, I wouldn't delay, especially if we have disruptions when the weather turns colder.
