East coast storm (1 Viewer)

Late last week they were calling for a foot of snow here, then down to 4 to 8 early in the week, then 3 to 6, then 1 to 3; we ended up with barely a dusting, but they did a great job of whipping everyone into a frenzy, one last rush for milk, bread, eggs, water and toilet paper.

What a winter..................

DJ on 92. 5 FM "The River" used the term "dodged a bullet" twice referring to the storm. No, Essex Country stayed right where it is Lady! The storm veered.

Rain and wind for 2 days and now it...is...snowing...again. Probably not going to last long as it wasn't even predicted, but just another indication that the Weather Gods are displeased with us. Opening Day is just hours away so get someone to plow the baselines and shovel off home plate, please.:rolleyes2: -- Al

DC region is finishing it's snowiest March since 1960. Had almost 13" whereas 1-2" is normal for the month. Adios winter. It's been real. -- Al

Woke up this morning to a freakin' snow storm, we got about an inch during my two hour commute to the office. By 1:00 it was 57 degrees, all the snow was gone and I was sweating in my coat as I walked to the garage this afternoon. Looneytoon weather this year, that's for sure.

I got to count my blessings more often. A 2-hour commute, that's rough.

Here are the views from my kitchen window and my front door:

We got 19 inches from around 10:30 PM Wednesday through around 3AM today. It's pretty, and for me, I'm glad that I can work online from home, and don't have to drive in it.

It's clouding up again now. The forecast is for a snow shower tonight. One forecast calls for 1 to 3 inches, another calls for 3 to 5. And there is a possibility of snow again tomorrow.

Good old-fashioned Pennsylvania winter!

Prost!

Ahhhh....had to take a cool look at days gone bye!!! as we here in Arizona topped off at 110 in Tucson, we have seen some record heat early this Summer and it's just starting!!! seems just yesterday everyone was talking about snow fall totals and the polar vortex:)...Sammy

It's that time of year. We have the season's first named storm becoming a hurricane and headed up the east coast just in time for the 4th of July holidays. -- Al

And the media has the story in heavy rotation, too. Every 5 minutes, "hurricane, hurricane, hurricane". Fegh!

Prost!

This winter was so brutal that even a hurricane is a welcome change. I don't mind a good downpour if the power stays on. In fact swimming is a lot of fun during a tropical storm. It's warm and you are already wet so let it rain.

We're due right now for a thunderstorm here; the conditions the past two days have been typical for mid-summer days on which we'd get one in the late afternoon. And although Accu-Weather reported a good chance of a thunderstorm yesterday and Monday, we got nothing here in the Valley. I'll probably get caught in it on my ride tonight.

Prost!

Its a a rain storm,,go to the beach,,enjoy thewaves like I always did,,forget the media

Gents,

In South Padre Island, TX for vacation...check you maps boys, its waaaaaaaay down south on the very southern tip of Texas. The Margaritas are cold, the pools are clear and gulf coast is luke warm with clean beaches. Staying at the Sapphire Resort and will take a few pics mañana for you to see. The beaches are clean the mamacitas are tanned (eh hem) I mean the churches are open 24 hours for mass. No Hurricane Pedro's or Wilmas in site. The Fireworks on the barge will be spectacular and I got a factory tan so I will not get a sun burn.

Hope to take a morning shot for y'all at dawn and sorry to hear about the storm drama on the east coast...seriously that sucks.

John in South Padre Texas

PS: I am sure Mike Miller is here somewhere holding court.

Gents,

Photos as promised AM and PM in South Padre Island. I am NOT rubbing it in as I am sure there are other places y'all are at that are much nicer.

Sammy:

Connected through Phoenix enroute to Texas on Tuesday, airport temp at 7:30pm was 111. 111 at 7:30pm? What is the low at 2am 99?

Lost power tonight but the new generator kicked in almost immediately. There's a reason you spend x amount of money for these things.

Looks like the regular power is back. Good to know the thing works though.

Only a soccer fan would spring for a generator. I always swear to buy one when the power goes out and then never give it a second thought once the power returns. That is the American way.
