East coast storm (1 Viewer)

Well, our wonderful, wackadoo weather is at it again. Last 2+ days temps have been in the 60's, and have hit 70 today, but a storm front has just hit us with high winds and heavy rain. Temp at 4pm was 70 and once the front passes, we are supposed to be at 30 by 11pm and minus single digit wind chills by 6am. A 70 degree swing in temps in 14 hours. Ya gotta love DC weather.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Same here. Going from highs in the mid-60s to 25 tomorrow.

It just went thru here...it was nearly 50 the other day i was outside changing a flat tire for my neighbor wearing only a t-shirt...Then came the rain...sleet...30 - 40 mph winds & several inches of snow later as well as back to 20...The Rankin Bass Freeze Miser said " oh...no..no...i am not letting go of you yet ! " Gotta love global warming !

This weather insanity continues unabated. 55 today, 60 on Saturday, back to 45 on Sunday, and 'Ding, ding, ding!' a predicted 6+ inches of snow due Monday am. Mother Nature has been officially diagnosed as being Bi-Polar!{eek3}{eek3} -- Al

Today is the last really cold day of the Winter. Tuesday's high temperature will be above freezing and daily high temperatures will stay above freezing until next Winter. {sm4}

Predictions correct. Buried again. Fortunate that the ground wasn't frozen solid thanks to the earlier mild weather, so maybe the snow won't hang around too long. Streets somewhat ok. Just 2 weeks until Opening Day! -- Al

Nice and sunny in Southern California ^&cool

Brad

No earthquakes here though. I would still take it over this endless winter. We lucked out with only a dusting of snow today. It's like there is a line between MD and PA with the heavy snow in the last two storms going just South.

Yeah, no earthquakes and no drought either. SoCal might want to buy some of this snow.:wink2: -- Al

Every region has some problems. I will take this anytime, all the time.

What at never ceases to amaze me in all the visits here are the highways. Even a local highway in one of the towns here in Orange County -- not one of the major ones -- makes the biggest superhighways back east look like a country road; four lanes in each direction. Moreover, they are in impeccable shape whereas the ones back east are always being worked on, never finished (probably due to some union).

I agree Brad that roads here are the worst. The expressways are two lanes and forty plus years old. No wide four lanes on I-94 0r I-69. No shortage of potholes either. Maybe spring will arrive some day. They are predicting more snow and cold through March.

The deer are tired out and looking for food. Lately they must trust me because they rest all night under the trees. I see them every morning.DeerResting1w.jpg

That's a beautiful picture.

Well yet another storm is brewing, this one for my area could be a whopper, the models are projecting anywhere from 8 to 16 inches to hammer us Tuesday night into Wednesday along with high winds and coastal flooding.

Unbelievable........................

That is brutal. Particularly after getting a few nice days. It was nearly 70 here on Saturday. This morning it's 19 degrees and expecting a couple inches of snow tomorrow. I noticed some of the plants and flowers have started to bloom. They are in for a shock.

They're not the only ones in shock. After 70 plus weather for the past week in Orange County, California, including a perfect weather day on Friday, I've returned to the cold breath of reality. From shorts to mittens {eek3} Ugh!

We're supposed to get hit with this storm as it passes by. Calling for snow all Tuesday but only up to 2 inches before heading north. Snow again. This is, I think, the 7th snow storm in the last 7-8 weeks, quite an occurrence for this modest southern village. -- Al

Last night was the coldest temperature recorded here for this date since they started keeping records in 1800's.

Up here in Maine the snowfall really varied depending on your location. Personally I got NOTHING in the way of snow {sm4} but incredible winds with a lot of tree limbs and branches down. However, thankfully no damage just a lot of spring clean up ...if spring should ever decide to arrive.
