I buy a label off ebay for an item sold on ebay. I chose Fedex next day which quoted me $151, so I clicked "purchase postage"...I later get billed $200.44 Further investigation shows the weight charged was for 49lbs...the actual weight was 12lbs...this error is clearly evident. Ebay see's this error and says oh yeah huh? Directs me to fix it with FedEx...I call FedEx and they adjust to a new price of $82.75 (hooray to my benefit^&grin) though they now direct me back to eBay to obtain the credit...I call ebay back the following day because too much time is already wasted for that day.
Ebay tells me the following day that I will get a credit from FedEx not eBay, it has to be taken care of with FedEx...so once again I call back FedEx, this time I dig deeper and obtain from FedEx the account number, amount and date of credit. FedEx tells me eBay can only provide you now with the credit itself. I call back eBay and they say they have no record of a credit. I ask, more like force the lady from eBay to call FedEx and confirm the credit exists so this ebay lady goon can log this down for future reference. She does call FedEx to my surprise and confirms with me that the credit exists...so I ask her to note that in our reference records...she say ok, I say goodbye! I get to thinking about this goon of a lady and start wondering if she noted it for real. I decide to call the "contact us" number on eBay once again to ask if she noted it? They now have me blocked in such a way that my calls go to recording that says "have a nice day"

No better feeling than being a customer and told where to go and what to do!

So I guess your only allowed so many calls before they assume your not a real customer^&confuse

Mate what a nightmare companies love taking your money but take there time and make it as hard as possible to get a refund, good luck keep us updated.

Sounds just like trying to fix an error with the cable bill. I am sure it was maddening.

Sorry to hear about this situation. Sharing your story just convinced me to "Never" use one of E-Bay's shipping labels. Wishing you well on the turn out on this one !

Beware if you ship internationally. I recently sold a model kit to an overseas buyer. When I tried to send him an invoice I get the "message unable to send because I have to ship using eBay's international shipping service". I think that's odd because I print my own shipping and have never used their service or signed up to use it. I call eBay they tell me that they did an update and put all of their sellers into the their international shipping service. I'm then told that I will have to go into my account settings to restore my shipping options. When the operator asks why I don't want to use their service I calmly explained to her that I think eBay has their hands in my pocket enough between their fees and PayPal. Now they also want to profit on the shipping too. I guess she didn't like my answer because they keep switching me into their shipping service even after I have changed it back three times already.

Jeeeezzz, Ridiculious

Good thing about eBay's global shipping is that you are only responsible for loss during the domestic leg. I would not offer shipping to places like China in the past. Now I have no qualms opening my auctions to any buyer location.

I'm not a big time seller (three or four items weekly) but I have no trouble using whatever shipping service I want, which is USPS anyway.

So I was assured once again, another month later by eBay that my credit would follow on the next invoice...guess what? NOT! I'm on the phone once again trying desperately and having to start all over and repeat myself the circumstances to obtain my **** credit (117.00) FedEx gave me a credit reference which I gave to eBay last month that they confirmed by phone that the credit existed. eBay assured me thee credit would follow on the next invoice...this being said after them saying the same thing the previous month. So now I just asked the lady on the phone, "why does this have to be so difficult?" She said this thing with FedEx is all new to them and it's a learning curve. She say's FedEx isn't individualizing the credits with the customer. I say, "At least your being honest and didn't just make up some excuse" She says, "I'm new here and haven't been here long enough to learn how to lie" {eek3} O.k....so she now says, "we will contact you tomorrow because we need to contact FedEx and see how we can resolve this"...I say, "here we go again!"

I asked her before I hung up..."once this is resolved do you think you can talk to someone in management and give me a month of free listing or something for all my time wasted?" She said do you have an eBay Store?" I said, "Hahaa...NO!!! At this point I'm not looking to expand my business with a company that charges too much and can't provide decent customer service!" END of Call!

On another note I sold on eBay and shipped some phones to a guy in Atlanta...I created a shipping label from My ebay/USPS, I selected Parcel Select, it said, "2-9 days delivery" with expected delivery "OCT15th"...come to find out you can't ship anything from Hawaii to the mainland with "parcel select" because it is a "ground service" just like "parcel post" which really means "boat service" The buyer just received the phones last week, 2 days after I gave him a full refund and cancelled the transaction to get my seller fees back. I cancelled the transaction because I really thought they were lost and the tracking just kept saying "in transit" My gripe here is the "expected delivery date" and the "2-9 day statement" shown on eBay's shipping page...I didn't know what parcel select was other than a 2-9 day service, turns out it's a 49 day service:mad: Anyhow I told this lady from eBay about the information being inaccurate and she said Bla Bla Bla...that USPS is in control of that info. I could tell she wasn't going out of her way to make sure other people above her see that it's corrected!

Never sold on eBay don't think I ever will either. I very rarely buy from eBay nowadays. The bargains aren't there like they used to be and it seems more and more of the products are BIN. I thought it was an auction site?

Actually there are still good deals on Ebay. I just bought last week a stunning mameluk along with a hussar from the same maker for $14.99 each. I was surprised to find this week the same mameluk going for more than $1000! Please see link of current auction: http://www.ebay.com/sch/Militaria-/...860542&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_ssn=massies0

Here is a pic of my great deal:

Seems that the seller will always lose . Especially when USPS screws up tracking and does not update info. All the buyer has to do is say they never received the item. If tracking is not updated by USPS, the seller winds up paying !

The USPS does not offer true tracking. They call it a delivery confirmation number. You only get true tracking if you use USPS overnight or 2nd day. That being said eBay will only accept the tracking number from those USPS domestic services if your buyer files a claim. Any other number is worthless in a dispute. I know because I have had this conversation with them several times. If you can call it a conversation, because they basically tell you what they are not going to do for you, and what they will do for the buyer.

Strange. It seems as though the same people have problems with eBay and/or
the USPS.

No offense to anyone who works for the USPS but when it comes to eBay I really don't like them. I will take UPS or FedEx anytime.

FYI This mameluk went for $1849, wow! 123 times what I paid for mine 2 weeks ago...I am not into speculating so I will keep mine and the hussar too :)
