Euro 2008 (1 Viewer)

So far I'm 0 for 2 in predictions. A very gutty performance by the Turks. However, they will have squad problems against Germany. Never count them out though. Rustu could have been the goat but winds up as a winner. Amazing!

Yes, incredible, 1 minute from the end they were out, the next they were level! And then the Croats miss 3 penalties! What a rollercoaster!

Prediction time for the Quarters:

Today

Portugal v. Germany
Winner: Portugal

Friday

Croatia v. Turkey
Winner: Croatia

Saturday

Netherlands v. Russia
Winner: Netherlands

Sunday

Spain v. Italy
Winner: Spain

Of the four teams predicted, these are my favorites in this order: Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Croatia.

If things hold to form, it would be Portugal v. Croatia and Spain v. Netherlands in the Semis.

Well Jazzman I hope you didn't bet too much on the first two matches.

How Croatia let Turkey score with seconds to go is amazing, knowing Turkey's growing reputation for remarkable comebacks they should have been thinking defence.

Having said that I agree with your picks concerning Spain and the Netherlands. We shall see.

Enjoy.

Russell,

No big deal. Not to worry. First, I was shocked that Rustu wandered from the goal mouth with two minutes to go and then for the Croatians to let in a score on the last play of the game. That was amazing.

Well Jazzeum I watched the Russia, Netherlands game. I was amazed at how exciting the Russians were. Tomorrow we watch Spain and Italy. Enjoy.

Yo Brad, my prediction is down the pan HOLLAND, but what a breath of fresh air the Russians were, was amazed at their open play and skill, thought they had blown it all the chances they missed, at last the best team won. If it goes to form three group winners knocked out, nothing down for Spain tomorrow but I think they will make it, but its a funny game fooball.
Bernard.

The RED ARMY is moving WEST.... What a nice futebol gane.

Rod.

I saw the first half, then duty called (Mrs. Jazzeum:D) and just finished watching the game. Russians were (it goes without saying) the better side but the Dutch were never in the game. They looked out of sorts from the get go. They had some life in the first 15 minute extra period but then could do nothing.

I'm now batting 0 for 3. God, I hope it's not 0 for 4 but I wouldn't be shocked either:(

Brad, que tu equipo salga bien manana, la furia espanola.

Good luck.

I somehow get the feeling that things are setting up nicely for Germany to win this:D. But with all this surprises, who can predict anything:eek:? If the Russians keep playing like this, can they win it? I believe the Germans will be in the final ( sorry Turkey ), and well, maybe we'll have another classic Germany-Italy final ( boring stuff really, bring on some more surprises ). Let's see what we in Portugal call «nuestros hermanos» can do this afternoon...

Besides the Greek won the last final in Euro 2004, the finals has almost the same teams, doesn't matter if is EURO or WORLD CUP. the teams are: Italy, Germany, Brazil, Argentina and lets put some French team in the list too...

I hope that Russia and Spain will changed this rule, at least for the Euro...:D

Cheers

This referee is doing his best to insure a Ger Ita final. June 22 is not a good day for Spain: they lost to South Korea on this day in 2002 although the refs threw that one to the home team. What a disgrace that was.

You just get the sense that this is just not going to be our day.

This ref should never be allowed to wor another international match!

Justice was done today. They were the best side despite an Italian side more interesting in defending than attacking (what else is new).

You just said, Justice was done today, congratulations they deserved.

I liked the Silva strikes, que buena patada...

At the start of the game i really wanted Italy to win (Italian grandfather,Pasta, bla, bla, bla)but at half time i was desperate for Spain to triumph.I've never seen such boring negative football as Italy displayed last night,it would have been a crime if they'd gone through. What happened to the Italy of a few years back with skill and passion?.Congrats and good luck to Spain.

Yo Trooper sorry about this Rob, man they bored me to death lastnight, was delighted when Csec Fabregas stepped up for last penalty, said to my wife this lad wont miss he is world class.
Bernard.

Bernard, it always like that, they never play well, they always stay in the defence strategy and sometimes they go forward with one guy like Totti, Luca Toni, Toto schilachi (something like that he played in 1990), Paolo Rossi etc...
I want see Turkey and Spain in the final

Couldn't agree more,i like to think England would have played better than that,if they'd got there of course:rolleyes:

For me i think a Germany V Russia final would be good to watch.
