Yeah, it's not like the good old days when there were real sporting heroes. I remember back in the 1960/70's when I was at school all of the Football and Cricket players, including those that played for Australia, had to have a separate job to earn a living.

As for Soccer, back then in Australia I reckon 90% of supporters were born in another country. To be honest things haven't changed all that much as Soccer is still down the list of popular sports in Australia, we are much like the US in that regard. But it does get plenty of support on the government sponsored multicultural TV channel here called SBS: http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/

Brad you are a really Football Connoisseur, not too bad for an Americain (joke.....)! I second you on your predictions, but be carefully with Spain X Italy, I am not sure of the capability of the Spanish team to beat the Azuri.
