Hi Treefroggers,
One of the great pleasures I get when I build a diorama base is that point when the landscaping and painting is complete and I get to put figures and vehicles into and onto the display.
Just recently I finished two 22” x 22”dioramas of the same “crossroad”. One shows a winter scene… The other summer…
The first one is obviously (I hope) “Battle of the Bulge” and shows a U.S. Ambulance and some GI’s who’ve been captured by a “false” MP roadblock… Already one GI is dead and the other three are looking very apprehensive…
Another “winter” scene shows a King Tiger passing by two abandoned U.S. vehicles which are being looted by some German soldiers… the final display is the “summer” one… while three Panzer Officers hold a roadside meeting a “Hitlerjugend” Pauther crew nervously scan the sky and surrounding countryside for enemy activity. Somewhere in Normandy 1944…
As my brother says… “A few figures look good… Put them next to a fighting vehicle…looks even better… Fit them all into an original display and… they come alive!”

Regards to all,
