Friends,
If TGM would consider, with each dispatch of a new AFV or a Tank ,to produce a limited number of high quality painted vehicles ( like the ones in the pictures) would you be prepared to pay more for such a vehicle ???
would appreciate your opinion. I would certainly put my name of the list of possible buyers.

guy...

Not for me as I would repaint them myself should I wish to have them detailed more. I would also think that this would possibly be the way that you would also go. would you pay a higher premium than now for something that you repaint when you recieve. It would though depend on detail cost etc for many collectors. I wonder if this would work HB did a similar thing and, that was not a huge success for a variety of reasons. I think, it would lead to more problems than it would solve especially, with the cost of sets now.

I wonder if people would ask well why not do it across the board all the time and, not for just a few. I know this seems to be born from the discussion recently about better painting but, for me, its not a very good idea. Its like these companies and painters who paint to different levels!!!!! I still find that weird.

Honour Bound tried this ,driving the costs up near $500.00 a tank. Not enough takers to keep them in the tank mfg. business..Michael

Guy,

I respectfully disagree with Mitch and Michael on this one. You mentioned TG producing a LIMITED run of highly detailed painting on what already are currently small (around 150-200) production numbers of each version offered. If you allocate 10% of these for a special limited run, we`re talking 10 to 20 AFV's. If the difference in price is not absurd, I`m pretty confident there are enough collectors out there to buy them, myself included. I, for one, lack the talent skills to perform a quality painting job like that, and its something I certainly appreciate and value. Like me there are many others. I don`t think the parallel drawn with HB applies. The superb job HB was doing and then abruptly stopped making AFV`s is for other reasons, most of them regarding the economics in the country in which they are located, with soaring costs, currency rates and tariff retaliations, and not the lack of buyers. Try to see what happens every time a Gold Series HB is announced for sale in this forum or at e-bay...:wink2:

Guy, could you please tell me, who produced the two Hetzers ? TGM ? Which producer made these two fine figures please ???
many thanks for your reply

I think it might be a good idea. I wonder if Tom could give us an idea of how much it would be. Many members are already paying $300 for First Legion AFV's, on the other hand Figarti has the most weathering and their prices are reasonable. Alex

I dont know why TGM seems to have the most threads concerning the development of his products, with a lot of suggestions and critizism. If Tom can keep his head straight without getting huffy, as some of the other manufacturers do. He will have a goldmine of development info, which he can use to his advantage.

Personally, for me, as I have said before, if the manufacturers dont listen, I am not buying. So far they are all doing a decent job. But eventually I am only settling into 2 or so manufacturers who prove to be the most responsive and good value. I am watching closely and some decisions have to be made shortly.

Many of us think outside the box and have interesting ideas........Lets see who has the nerve to explore them. Alex

Great idea Guy but no from me im struggling keeping up with his stuff now.

I would but only on certain vehicles that i really like. That might open up a new can of worms though as there are many vehicles that i like...{eek3}{sm4}

Guy,

Great idea! I would be willing to pay more for vehicles painted to level you have shown here. They look amazing, btw. I guess the question is how much more approximately would this add to the price of the standard production unit? I'm definitely interested. Thanks!

Joe

No I would not want to pay more for more detail painting as the current price of AFVs are already too high. I'm satisfied with the current painting from TG at current price point.
