Man am I glad you posted this. I had forgotten about the Roman and Carthaginian ships.
I have to figure a plan for these. Cost and placement.

I think I spy a stug.

I noticed that there are no oars shown in the pic. Hope that they're not sold separately!

And I spy some rockets mounted on the wing of Jenkins' Corsair model. Question has to be, are there rocket-sets coming up for sale, or a third hose-nose:confused:;)

I doubt John would do that...
there are over 50 oars per side...
I love them...
I just hope they are practical...
we shall see soon I bet...

I did notice that the base of the figure on deck...
is painted the same color as the deck...
that might be hard to work with...

but a grass base on that figure ...
standing on the deck would look odd too?

Chuck...

I'm stressing out a little bit too over space and money too...

2 large boats...

not to mention the figures for the boats...

and I still need the Roman fort...

more Aztecs...Guals and Romans...

I know I'm going to collect the new JJD series of Whiskey, Scalps and Beavers Pelts...

that is one good looking sculpt on the Indian...

so I need to add a room onto my house and have the stock market rally...^&grin

The four rocket configuration looks like that used by HellDivers. I am not sure that the Corsairs carried rockets and the HellCat typically had three rockets on each side.

If I remember correctly from a conversation with John the boats will be very limited and must be pre-ordered. The figures will be available with two base options, matching the boat deck and a grass finish.
If sales are strong he will consider a second version of the Roman galley.
Many more ancients to come!

Limited release is understandable based on a projected cost. I hope I have a shot at both thou.
I have the Conte viking ship and it's one of my favorite pieces.
the beavers/ pelt line looks amazing but there is no way I have the room for another series.
I try to stay out of the this "manufacturer is my favorite" game because I like K&C as much as I do WB, FL, and others.
And I want every manufacture to succeed in this hobby, but man, John just seems to get better and better every year.

Cos I am saving all my money for you....

Someone did request for the size of the ship before, so here goes:

63cm long (or 25" for those that are stuck with imperial rule)
26cm high (or 10")
42cm wide (or 16")

The width includes the oars.

(actual photo showing John Jenkin's handwriting of the size of the ship can be found in the comments of the Chicago release album on Facebook, so these figures are authentic)

No need to worry about the deck matching the bases of the figures, or vice versa. Just save up $ first. I guess when the ship sails into the harbour, everything will be in alignment and colour matched.

A 3rd plane making a flypast is looking like a very necessary addition.

Having guts spelled backwards is also mandatory. Have to have guts as it is a piece of art.

I must be slow today, it took me 2 times looking at this to figure it out.
I would like some 111guts.

.. Just a little off topic fellow Froggers.. I will be getting the Corsair this time around.. Has anyone had issues with it?? Like broken pieces or such?..

I am not sure this answers your question but I have seen it in person at Sierra and it is incredible!!!!

I have both the Navy and the USMC version of the Corsair and have had no problems what so ever. I also have one of the Wildcats . . . no problems here either. All total, I have 25 of John's airplanes, obviously mostly WWI Knights of the Sky issues. Not one problem amongst them.

I've had a few problems, one of which was fairly serious. Like all of these outfits that source wares from Chinese "factories," Jenkins is at the mercy of others when it comes to quality control. However, I'll guarantee you one thing. If you have a problem with a JJ model airplane, he'll work with you and the vendor to make it right. Period.

In the case of the "serious" issue that I noted at the top of my missive, John initiated a limited run of updated and improved Albatros to replace those that some of us received, ones which had proven to be seriously defective. As lenswerks/Donnie noted at the time, the cost of shipping the replacements to collectors alone was likely more than Jenkins could possibly have made on the sale of the originals. How can you beat that deal?:)
