Just had the latest King and Country UK Collectors Club newsletter through the letterbox. As well as announcing some (7) new Crimean releases for December, it is also announced that these will be the LAST release for this range!

Disappointing or what!!

Although they have said that a new collection will be released in Dec 2011.

Everything comes to an end but, think of what they may embark upon

Did the newsletter mention what the 7 new releases would be?

Donnie

Hope it's not true. Could they possibly mean that they're moving on to explore other battles during the Crimean War.

Yep,looks like its true,I just read the same thing. New range from K&C UK in December 2011.

Seven final releases for Crimean, including lancer on collapsing Horse and one off set of Florence Nightingale with Brit soldier.

Rob

Rob,

If it's not too trouble can you reproduce here exactly what they said.

'We have developed this range, and indeed it has gone from strength to strength, but all good things have to come to an end. With this in mind we are having one last 'hoozar' on this range in December 2010"

"So a good 7 part end to this range allowing us to concentrate on a new collection exclusive to K&C UK which will be coming out in December 2011"

Brad,

This range has gone from strength to strength but all good things come to an end. With this in mind we we are having one final last 'hoozar' on this range December 2010.

17th Lancer on collapsing Horse
Russian Inf officer shouting- for Charge or Alma
" " Bugler/drummer- " "
" " standing firing " "
" " standing loading " "

Then our Piece de resistance :

Florence Nightingale seeing to a wounded Coldstream guard.

So a good 7 part end to this range allowing us to concentrate on a new collection exclusive to us which will be out in December 2011,please note CRW01-CRW04 and CRW14,16 and 24SL AND 25 are low stock in numbers and soon to be discontinued.

Rob

Thank you both. Man, what a bummer :( I wonder if sales were not what they anticipated or it's just time to move on.

Jeff when he sees this will be very unhappy.

Yes I thought the same,he probably got the newsletter same time we did.I reckon the remaining Crimean stuff will disappear quicker than Mussolini's friends at that petrol station:eek:;)

Rob

Hi Guys

Infact sales have been very good and as mentioned there are a number of the range that are close to being discontinued.

However this is the business part!!

As this range is produced for us in small amounts the options were to reproduce, and have a potential high stock holidng and cashed tied up in that. Or discontinue and produce another range with Andy!!

The Crimea has done very well but unfortunatly we cannot afford to risk heading further afield in the Crimea into less well known and popular regiments and battles. We have to think commercial as mine and Mikes money is not on a tree!! ha ha

So as mentioned, yes this December will see the last of the Crimea with a new project in 2011.

jeff is very happy as he has beena good boy and had manytreats from his family and friends over the last few weeks !! so he has the entire collection plus multiples now!

Infact CRW01-CRW04 and CRW14,16 and 24SL AND 25 are low on stock and will not be replaced. I would say within the next two or so months they will be at critical stock levels and be discontinued. So watch this space.....Well K&C UK website and treefrog!!

Thanks for the confirmation Tony, want to congratulate you on a superb range, the quality, painting and poses have been excellent, the Lancers are some of the very best mounted figures I've seen.

So now the guessing starts.....whats afoot for December 2011?;)

I'd think they might do a vignette of the blokes in the pub at a London Show..

Could be a hit...collecting the collectors of collections.

Thanks for the update Tony, I guess.

Any hints on the next range, 19th Century, 20th Century?

The unfortunate part is now the speculators will now rush in and buy remaining stocks. I would request that you and Treefrog sell no more than two of an item to any one person. This may be highly unusual as you are in the business to sell product. However, if this not done, it will be unfair to regular buyers of the range.

I hope we see sales allowed to go as they wish before restrictions and rationing takes place in the toy soldier market.

What about collectors who wish to buy multiples? It just won't work and hope that sales go on a first come first basis. If this range was anything to go buy the next will be as popular.

My post was directed to Tony and Shannon, not you, unless you happen to be a stockist or dealer, so please....

That is absurd, let the chips fall where they may – That’s what the manufacture did. Your post has the potential of affecting the ability of collectors to complete their Crimean collection.

I bought all of their CRW015 this morning and would have bought more if they were in stock.

Donnie

I bet they are flying out the door as we speak, those letters will be dropping through letter boxes all over the place and now the word is out on here too.

Am really looking forward to the collapsing Lancer set,a nice little finish to the Charge for me.

Rob

jazzeum...

I did not think posts were restricted on here to reply to and, as you made a comment which, I felt needed replying to I did. Its really as simple as that and, its just as much any posters right to comment on supression or restrictive sales practices which, you had decided to offer openly on the post. If you had not wanted areply PM tony and ashannon/peter or, add a caveat that we should not respond as it is a private conversation otherwise I believe it my right to reply without the ended veiled... be quiet response.
