Farewell Crimean range (1 Viewer)

That is absurd, let the chips fall where they may – That’s what the manufacture did. Your post has the potential of affecting the ability of collectors to complete their Crimean collection.

I bought all of their CRW015 this morning and would have bought more if they were in stock.

I agree it's probably unrealistic but it is a concern is it not? However, I'm sure that no rationing will take place and you'll see these show up on ebay with generous markups. Someone needs to speak up for the collector who maybe put off some purchases or can only afford so much at any time. I don't pretend to be that person but hoarding may be a problem.

Although not a retired item, when the V1 from Figarti came out, people swooped in and bought them, depriving others of the ability to purchase them. This wasn't an idle concern and Rick was concerned about it.

As you mention this is a business and if we have a collector (of which we have many) who buy in multiples i cannot / will not 'Curb' a sale as i am sure any business person wouldn't.

We do however restrict Limited edition sales, The recent ambulance as an example.

I can however assure you that there is plenty of stock to go round and also i am sure if any collector was desperate for some set figures their dealer as we do will 'lay away'.

We hold plenty of stock of all K&C and find that nearly all collectors who buy from us get what they are after.

I get where your coming from and understand however have to agree it is not time yet to restrict the market at point of sale. Also not the economic climate. If i had five left and somebody out of the Blue (no sales history) called and a regular called there is of course some common sense applied.

I completely understand as I did mention you are in the business to sell product and what I'm asking for is probably unrealistic. I'm the first to realize that, particularly in these economic times. However, I'm glad to see you do restrict sales on limited items.

Now, how about some hints?

Brad, I don’t have a problem with selling one to a customer of sets like the V1, as it would be the rare collector who would need more than one for their display and there were many vendors where a second set could be purchased if needed. Fighting men that make up a firing line and particularly the K&C UK Crimean range, with only one source in the US is a different story.

Also like in the past you will need to look for the BUZZ marketing that myself or Bob will be doing a LOT nearer the time of launch.

Well I just rang Lord Tony and got my order in. I ordered CRW01 17TH Lancer x2,CRW04 Gun team and the SL set 'The rescue'. He said theres nowhere near panic but things are selling well,as they have done all along.

Hi Guys

Infact sales have been very good and as mentioned there are a number of the range that are close to being discontinued.

However this is the business part!!

As this range is produced for us in small amounts the options were to reproduce, and have a potential high stock holidng and cashed tied up in that. Or discontinue and produce another range with Andy!!

The Crimea has done very well but unfortunatly we cannot afford to risk heading further afield in the Crimea into less well known and popular regiments and battles. We have to think commercial as mine and Mikes money is not on a tree!! ha ha

So as mentioned, yes this December will see the last of the Crimea with a new project in 2011.

jeff is very happy as he has beena good boy and had manytreats from his family and friends over the last few weeks !! so he has the entire collection plus multiples now!
Infact CRW01-CRW04 and CRW14,16 and 24SL AND 25 are low on stock and will not be replaced. I would say within the next two or so months they will be at critical stock levels and be discontinued. So watch this space.....Well K&C UK website and treefrog!!

I must admit to being more than a tad disappointed when I first heard that this Decembers releases were going to be the last. But after a bit of strategic planning I have rearranged my two displays and have added figures to both sides and as Tony has said I have the entire collection plus multiples of some of the more standard poses. I can’t wait for the excellent new releases coming at the end of the year.

I have already decided to collect the new K&C UK Excusive range as I find a release of 6/7 figures every six months and limited to around 40ish for the range is an affordable way to collect an entire range. As to what it will be? The Marlburian Wars would go down nicely.
