Fargo (2 Viewers)

Peggy lit Dodd up pretty good...
she is a most bizarre character...
"a little touched"...
no...a lot touched...

the Jabberwocky poem was a good touch...

watching next weeks preview...
after Milligan shot up the Gerhardt's house...

they said he killed or shot the cripple...
are they referring to the patriarch of the family in the wheel chair..Otto Gerhardt?
I thought I was hearing things when the Jabberwocky started. I haven't heard that since high school, or Terry Gilliam's film, anyway. Another bizarre touch for this wonderful show.
I am watching in great anticipation to see Peggy get her just reward. My concern is that with the way things go on Fargo, she will be the one who gets away untouched.:rolleyes2:
I assume that they were referring to Otto. -- Al

yea...

pretty good show Al...

it seemed "cheesy" at first...

but like a Tarentino production...

I think it was designed that way...

it's got that Pulp Fiction vibe to it...

I hear you guys talk about Season 1...

sadly...

it's not offered on On Demand...

just put it at the top of my queue on Netflix...

Michael, when you get the chance to see Season 1, I'm sure you will thoroughly enjoy it. It has some obscure references to the original movie and it is extremely well done. It ties things up in a very satisfactory way. -- Al

Mike, I second that about Season 1. I watched it again as FX replayed it before Season 2. After watching what has been aired so far of Season 2 I would give #1 a slightly better rateing. However both or A+.

Season one was great, but the Hanks character and his eventual wrecking ball wife annoyed me.

Aside from the butchers wife, no one in this seaoson is annoying; good Lord is she vapid.

Love the lawyer, the now head of the KC crew who's tapping the daughter of that cementhead son who got a taste of his own medicine with the cattle prod, the Danson character and his son in law.

The indian is no slouch either, one bad dude.

Can't wait to meet the undertaker.

The Lawyer was a great character, I could easily see a spin off for him.

He was great in the last episode. A bit startling to see Bruce Campbell show up as Ronald Reagan. I half expected him to say "groovy" and chain saw the head off some demonic old lady. There seems to be a bit of a political theme developing with Reagan and the butcher story along the lines of questioning the american dream. The butcher had a dream of buying the business but couldn't make it work and instead saw the place go up in flames. The young girl with the book questioned why he would even want to do that since he was just going to die and then the police officer asks Reagan about how America would turn itself around after listening to his speech but doesn't get an answer.

finally watched Season 1...Episodes 1-2 the other night...

as you guys told me...

it looks good...

Billy Bob is a bonafide kook...

looking forward the the second of four DVDs from Netflix to arrive...

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

any episode which starts off with Ian Anderson's "Locomotive Breath" has got to be a good one...

kind of glad to see Dodd's daughter get her string pulled...
as Bear is getting as sadistic as Dodd...

and Dodd has been in the butcher's trunk for 2-3 days...
after getting the cattle prod...
if not from being electrocuted...
after laying in the trunk for a few days...
I bet that stinks...

Floyd has got something up her sleeve...
however she cooperated with the police...
will be to her advantage...
the woman is shrewd...

the Undertaker's role was a lot smaller than I expected...^&grin

pretty good hour and a half episode...

This show is so well done, with so many unexpected twists, that I have given up guessing what comes next and am just enjoying the ride. Did figure the Undertaker or the other guy for a short scene in the hotel but wouldn't hazard a guess as to which. I am hoping the butcher's wife gets whats coming to her and that Ted Danson makes it through, but other than that, I can watch without concern.:wink2: This is the best show on TV. -- Al

As Al said best show on TV but the last episode I got a little confused trying to follow the story line. You almost have to rewatch the previous episode so you remember everything.
As stated before I think the first Fargo was a tad better only because of Billy Bob Thornton.
Gary

Just one twist after another. Peggy sure lives on the edge and must have a horseshoe up the wazoo. What a fantastically unpredictable show. -- Al

one of the best episodes to date...

starting to love the butcher's wife...

okay...help please...

I don't want to watch the previous episode again...

but I think I missed something...

I should have used closed caption...

why did the Indian do that...when he found Dodd?

have they revealed this already and it went over my head?

Michael, you didn't miss anything specific. I think it was an accumulation of things over the length of the show. The Indian's name, I think, is Hanzee, and I think the action towards Dodd was an opportunity he took to rid himself of a guy he had grown very tired off. He witnessed several cruel incidents from Dodd towards others (and must have been a long history of it), both physical and mental (especially the daughter), and it is now obvious his hunt to find Dodd was actually to do what he did and not to rescue him at all. This is all hindsight because I didn't see it coming until he arrived at the cabin and didn't kill Peggy and the butcher, or release Dodd, right away. It only dawned on me at that time that Dodd was in trouble. At least that's my guess. This show is impossible to predict. -- Al

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Al...okay...

so I didn't miss a scene where the Hanzee's allegiance swapped to Bear or Mike Milligan...

maybe he just snapped as Dodd insulted him several times in front of Peggy and Ed...

calling him stupid and a dog...

yep...maybe he just snapped after his shootout with the rednecks at the bar...

maybe he knew Peggy was a hairdresser and just wanted a haircut...

hahaha...I dunno...

all season long they have made a point about his undying loyalty to Dodd...
and now this flip...
maybe next week will explain it...

Peggy...you gotta love her...what a freakin goofball...

she calmly stabs Dodd twice like it's nothing reminding him to speak politely...

Dodd has found someone he is scared of...as he tells Ed..."don't leave me alone with your wife please"...

you guys keep telling me how great Season 1 is...I'm getting Disc 3 today...with episodes 6-7-8 from Netflix...

and while it's good...and will maybe get better...I think Season 2 is a better show...

please don't tell me anything or give any spoiler tips...

Geez, only 2 episodes left. Crud. No WD till February, no more Fargo in 2 weeks, that leaves only American Horror Story still going. Hey, maybe I'll read a book.^&grin -- Al

I finished Season 1 of Fargo last night...

it was a good watch...

lots of kooky characters...

I especially liked the inept Chief of Police and Lester Nygaard himself...

I personally think season 2 is much better...

just mu opinion...

Season 1 is the definition of 'what goes around, comes around'. Very satisfying show. Can't wait to see how Season 2 comes out. These writers are just brilliant and preserve the oddness of the original movie completely. -- Al
