What was your favorite retired or current toy soldier set or figure find in 2010?

Mine was an AZW Trophy set, EQ36-Rocket Battery

A close second was a K&C set SP 12 - Pontoon Bridge or the new Snow Tiger.

Picking one favorite set from all of my Toy Soldier purchases in 2010 was harder than I thought.:D

My favorites are the JJD Triplane and Camel. If I have to pick one of those it would be the Triplane. Just superb models. -- Al

K&C Royal Marine band. Nice to have it back in the cabinet

This is my pickup of the year, a rather rare item from K & C. Normally these were painted in khaki, the CB series from the late 80s. However, Louis told me that Gordon did some in red.

See "My £10 Mystery Box" - as my favourite pick-up - and from that box, the Johillco Piper. (even though he was so badly trashed - I had to repaint him!). johnnybach

ecuriel - that's a beauty - what make/model is that one please - and oh yes! PLEASE let it be a casting that you've painted yourself - johnnybach

Thats a pity - I still like that version, though I know K & C don't do unpainted castings.
One more question please. I do like your Avatar - and know what it means - especially to \americans (my Uncle was a Royal Marine - and always got on well with his "brothers"). I have long had a feeling that I would like to make up that monument in model form. Do you know of anyone who makes a version to build and paint?

You can check with bradford exchange. I have an unpainted bronze set in a larger scale.

For me it is definetely the Mountford Metal Miniatures AZW Gun Team kit, painted by John Firth. The "catch" of the year 2010 for me :)

Johnny, if you are interested in gun teams at full gallop check out Tommy Atkins/Fusilier. They have King's Troop, WW1 in caps(1914-16) and steel helmets 1916-18. The guns are 1904 13 pounders. Trooper
