Great choices. "Gunga Din" is one of the great, fun movies of all time. Love Errol in TCLB. "Wings" and "Hell's Angels" are must see aviation flicks. Also like "The Lives of a Bengal Lancer". -- AlGunga Din, Four Feathers, Beau Geste, The Charge of The Light Brigade, Wings, Gun Ho are just a few of my Black and Whites favorites......The Lt.
When I watched The Longest Day, my daughter (17) stopped by and when she asked me what I am watching, we realized that she never ever saw a black/white movie

Did you suddenly feel very old?
Loads to choose from, but a few of mine are The Longest Day, They Were Expendable, Dunkirk and Hell is for Heros, but I could go on (...and on, and on....)
Those are all great. My particular favorites would be Twelve O'Clock High, In Harm's Way, Pork Chop Hill and Paths of Glory. The Train is right up there. You guys have named all the great ones, but here's a few of my favorites not named so far: Sgt. York, All Quiet on the Western Front, 30 Seconds over Tokyo, Fighting 69th, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Four Feathers, Fighting Sullivans, Flying Tigers, Guadalcanal Diary, Run Silent Run Deep, Sink the Bismark, Objective Burma, Birth of a Nation, Horse Soldiers and Alexander Nevsky.
Great movies - all!
"In Harm's Way" is an outstanding film. For some reason it has not gotten the recognition it deserves. I know Kirk Douglas didn't like the naval ship special effects, but I did, and they are only a small part of the movie. The story, writing, acting, and mood are all fantastic. Wayne and Neal were at the top of their game. Preminger made a classic in naval warfare and the behind the scenes look at the Navy. -- AlThose are all great.
