Figarti 88 mm on ebay (1 Viewer)

Why? Mercenary stock market scalpers got you down? :D

......................................................................

No market manipulators are the problem. You have post market and pre market transactions, "experts" who for whatever reason try to push the market in one direction or the other.....then you have the mutual funds, insurance funds, ect that strive to creat trends that catch the smaller investors.

Secret is to learn to run with the funds as they say "sell on good news" always try to do the oposite of what the public is doing. Easy to say difficult to do.

Personally I invest in solid companies with good leadership, companies that I do not mind holding if I get caught up in a down trend......I just do not like to find myself in a erratic position for no reason......such was the case today!

My problem with it, is the perception of the mfg. being a willing accomplice to the speculators..ie: only 100 pieces being made, thus artificially creating the demand....I am a businessman that knows all about costs and profit margins and the Figarti business model has me stumped...100 Winter 88's at $270 retail is equal to $27000 in maximum sales worldwide. Not knowing the cost to dealers and their markup, say Figarti actually gets paid $15000 on the run. After paying the scuptor, painters ,mold making process, production and distribution costs, there is near not enough left to justify any of this stuff being mfg. at all. Take this same argument to the $180 vehicles..$18000 maximum worldwide retail for a run ,$10000 actually paid from dealers, take costs from that..? The dealer investment dollars I offer are a guess. Only they know what they actually pay for this stuff. It seems Figarti is running their business as a charity to us, because they can not be making any real money doing it...thus the 100 piece limit must be a marketing strategy, a loss leader if you like...Michael

Mike as I have said elsewhere, Figarti have made many changes to their business plan over the years. Rick comes across as a gentleman and a good businessman. These home run type sell out in 48 hours releases are a new experience for Figarti. HB had the same thing a while a go with some of those figure sets ( I think they were SS medics). It is just that these models have hit the sweet spot in a big way that we have this hullabaloo. If Figarti regularly sells out all thier new releases in future then I am sure Rick will change his approach.

I have had some conversations with Rick the last few days and based on what he told me they are, indeed, making money at 100 per release. He's an astute businessman and is not in this as a hobby or as a short term proposition.

I learned from the other thread that unless I have all the facts, I shouldn't be secondguessing his or anybody's strategy as I'm just a collector, not a businessman and don't bring the same degree of analysis that he does.

There is some more I wish to say but I'm a little tired so as Ringo says on Good night on the white album, "Now it's time to say good night, good night, sleep tight, now the sun turns out his light, good night sleep tight, dream sweet dreams for me,
dream sweet dreams for you."

That figarti 88 sold for...................$641.00us dollars.. and the prime mover $258us,unbelievable.

Wow, even at $500, makes you debate whether to keep it or not!!!!!!

Popular gun and a great rendition of it to boot!

Considering the small quantity made, the price doesn't seem extreme. I thought it would go higher.
