I just saw Nasir's post in the 251/17 posts about pre-orders and talked to Mandi at Treefrog as to whether they would be willing to take pre-orders on items to be released in the next few months that were shown as prototypes in Chicago.

Mandi said that if you want to send her a note asking her to hold one for you, that is fine. The proviso is that (i) the item may not be made; and (ii) fulfillment of your request will be subject to the allotment that Treefrog receives from Hobby Bunker, the US Figarti distributor.

Bearing that in mind I have placed an order for the JS-2 and the RM 3 Motor Carriage.

The hobby sure has taken an odd turn for me since Figarti started coming out with so many hot items. In that past my main frustration was just not having enough money to get everything I wanted. Now, even when I have the money for a certain item, not only is there a chance it will be sold-out, but I have to wait a month or more to find that out. It's like buying raffle tickets or trying to be the first call in some radio station contest. :(

I agree its loosing its fun factor feels more like a raffle, every man for himself.............:(

there will be a lot of tough choices in the coming months, In picking which one would be the one(S)to buy, But Overall, whatever might be chosen, Rick/Figarti's releases are a Great piece to have in any Collection.

Just to clarify I don't offer a preorder service in reponse to Chocolates or flowers, that's more to keep Mrs Grey Goose on side as she is the one who does all the real work. Rob normally justs leaves me his credit card it seems to work!!
I'm more partial to a couple of beers by way of inducement if that's a strong enough hint.
Seriously, I'm happy to take pre orders and hold for a period of time.
Also, happy to collate the requests on the prototypes (should they be made) as this obviously helps us in persuading Rick toproduce these beauties.
In both cases allocation is strictly in date order to maintain a fair share of the goodies.
Regards
Clive

Forget chocolates and whatnot. What you need is a camel or two because after all, as Clive likes to say, "you can never have enough camels."

Kevin,
You don't have to rub it in!!
To explain, on the show thread Tom Dubel (75 years old?) explained how he managed to seek out Trophy camels, Somerset camels.Alymer camels and trophy elephants for me.
I've been searching for the KandC Coldstream Guards Camels for ages and 2 complete sets eluded me again this year.
I'll just have to get up earlier.
Clive
