Figarti Westcoaster 2012 (3 Viewers)

Wayne,

I had actually posted (in a Figarti thread I think about a year so ago) a photo of some FL Stalingrad figures next to a Figarti Russian tank and in scale they were a perfect match. I think this was verified by Frank and Terry.

I hope your right !.......

FL and Figarti's OLD 1/32nd Tiger which is obviosly smaller than their new 1/30th one. If someone can show us a FL figure with the NEW Figarti 1/30th Tiger please show us.

You forgot to point out they also have a better price point than FL.

FL AFV's are no doubt a little pricer then Figarti....But they are indeed accurate 1:30th scale models that rival master 1:35 scale modelling... Both FL figures and FL vehicles are in perfect scale harmony.......At least with FL you are getting a well detailed, excellent paint/ weathering, accurate WWII AFV model with perfectly matched figures.....Something no one else has done to date....Money well spent as opposed to "the alternatives" which vary in figure size(1:28th), detail, and overall poorly detailed painted AFV's....I would rather Figarti AFV's or FL in product quality the choice is obvious....Also FL figures go fairly well with Figarti ....NOT PERFECT...But "somewhat" in the acceptable range especially in regards to style and QUALITY

Joe-

I thought we were bro's.... this coverage is craptacular- where is the Bradley???? Please tell me you accidentally didn't snag a pic!!

You're off the list of trustables!! {sm4}

Just joking, thank you for taking the time to do this- that Stuka is insane!!

Still somewhat your bro,{sm4}{sm4}

We go round and round on this. All of the manufacturers have their moments of greatness. But for those of us who have the 1/35th scale roots, most manufacturers can seem a bit toyish. But it will be said that this IS Toy Soldiers and not 1/35th scale modeling.

That is why those of us with the 1/35th scale roots have our difficulties with the hobby. ( Detail, Size, Scale, Paint accuracy etc.)

When I first saw Figarti AFV's I knew they were the closest to what I was used to, and of course now FL has done the same.

I do think that TG did a very good job with the German Paras and SS though

I had always envisioned a splitting in this hobby and although it is not official I think it is here. There are the true collectors and the modelers. Both have a different outlook and priority.

No doubt K&C attracts the true collectors, because they dont care about detail that much, TCS and TG kind of go both ways. And Figarti and FL are for the hard core modelers.................. Well something like that.

I think you make a very good point about collectors but what interesting they not much difference in price between kc, Figarti

Notice to all Treefroggers. The Split is Here. You must declare

Are you a collector or a modeller? No fence sitters - you can't be both.

Henceforth, if you are a modeller, you must dispose of all low detail toys which have not been enhanced or weathered by you personally. A true modeller would not have someone else do it for him. All models and figures must be exactly the same scale.

If you are a collector, you must dispose of any models with enough detail to determine what Mark or Ausf. it is. And you will no longer carry out any repainting or repairs on existing models. And no two models in your collection can be the same scale.

There will be searches.

You can be both..I have some stuff that is not that detailed that I like....But I am more a modeler. The more highly detailed Figarti and FL stuff I see the more the modeler comes out in me....I can tell that because I am starting to sell those collector pieces I spoke of. I just dumped the K&C Winter Tiger an iconic collectible, a year ago I would have never parted with that.

To buy the new Figarti T-34 and Stuka.

Your statement is essentially correct, except for the sarcasm.

So we all handle the hobby as we like. Yes I want my stuff accurate, detailed and as close to the same size as possible. That is a modeler speaking, a collector might not care about that. Alex

A forum is to express opinions, but if you stray off of the politically correct, you are subject to scrutiny.

I dont hide it I dislike "Toy Soldiers" but I love Accurate Scale Military Miniatures. In my opinion, as far as WWII goes, Figarti and FL are the only companies who have moved seriously in that direction. I have been modeling for 50 years, I think I know a bit about the subject.

I have no agenda, because Matt from FL dislikes BSP, yet I cant deny that they produce an excellent product, which is very much in line with what I am looking for in this Hobby.

BSP approached Figarti many years ago and forged a relationship with them, because we liked where they were headed. We still have an excellent relationship today.

So when I give an opinion here just remember I am coming from the modeling side, and a true collector may not agree.

But for the modeler we bring a lot of experience to the table.

We like to think outside the box and a lot of hard core collectors have trouble with that. Alex

There are a number of issues with the proportions on the original 1:32 Figarti Tiger. I would be interested in seeing the the FL figures with the new Figarti Tiger too.

Here they are with the HB Tiger which is a pretty good 1:30 (As well as a pic with me beside the Bovington Tiger I)
