Figrti Newest releases (priest, M4) (1 Viewer)

I think that's their marketing strategy and it's working. It will certainly build excitement heading to Chicago.

James, if they ever release FJs, you're toast :)

I thought the Sexton was the British version of the Priest. What's the difference between the two?

Too true! I think it's the vehicles where Figarti really excells though.
I've just ordered the88 and Prime Mover to arrive on Tuesday. Now I have to begin saving for these 2 new ones!

The M7 105 mm Howitzer which was on an M3 Lee chassis was called the Priest by the British. The Sexton replaced the Priest in 1943 to solve the problem of needing US made 105 mm ammo. It had a British 25 lb gun and was built by Canada for the British Army. The first batch were based on the Canadian built Ram tank (a variation of the US M3 Lee) but after that on Grizzly tank hulls (Canadian-built M4A1 Sherman tank chassis) . The Priests had the 105 mm howitzer removed and became the Canadian modified Kangaroo troop carrier which was a very important vehicle for Canadian troops.

The Priests were used by the British in North Afrika. The Sextons were used by the British and Canadians in Italy, Normandy through Germany. The Americans used the M7 everywhere.

Here are the same pictures on Matt's website. I resized them. They've sure improved the painting in the faces haven't they?

Carlos,

I don't think it's just the painting but the sculpting has improved dramatically. A couple of months ago when a friend of mine who was repairing the Monty tank, he told me he thought that the painting of the figures was outstanding. He should know because he sculpts and paints his own figures as the owner of Le Mans.

I can't wait for what's in store for us in Chicago.

Well, I know for a fact you'll be getting a free lunch from Figarti, so that's one thing that is in store for you in Chicago.

And I am sure Rick will drop a bomb on you guys at the show at which time you'll be knocking each other out of the way to run to your favorite dealer in the room to order said product(s) from........................

I agree that they have dramatically improved the painting and sculpting. I am really impressed. I just hope Rick has made the fenders of the Priest a bit stronger than on the M3 Grant (same chassis) as that is a fragile model.

If Rick drops a bomb at Chicago, it better miss me. He has just produced 5 straight armour pieces right from the core of my armour wish list. I don't think I can afford any more. Never thought I say this, but give me some breathing room. How about producing a model I don't want.

No such luck my friend, Rick is on a roll of epic proportions; why do I have a funny feeling a long barrel Mark IV in three tone camo with turret and side skirt armor will be rolled out at the show?

I don't know? Why do you have that funny feeling about a long barreled Mark IV?:confused:

I do know more is coming. I don't know how many. Maybe a shock and awe piece?

I just recently got into Figarti and I must say these guys are hitting homeruns on every release!!! I'm hoping to pick up the primemover and 88 (praying that is) and pre-ordered the sherman today, we are in the primetime of the toy soldier collecting, so much great stuff coming out from all the manufacturers. keep up the great work Figarti...Sammy

Brad put me down for one of the M7's (thanks for looking out for me) - I sent a confirming e-mail to Mandi.

In the mean time George (Warrior) e-mailed me about them, so I pre-ordered one of the DD Shermans from him. It will be very interesting to do a comparison between the Honour Bound Gold Edition Snorkel Sherman I bought last September, and this new Figarti one (from the photo, I would say the Figarti one will probably win outright, and at less than half the price).

Hmmm....why do I have that funny feeling about the appearance of the long-awaited MkIV as well George?

Cheers

M3A1 Half Track...will be a yeeehaaa!
Now that he has the M7 Preiest/Sexton, just take off the gun and you have a "Kangaroo" variant.

Hi Guys,
Yes, the snorkels are removable.
The turret in particular is amazing sculpting and as per Carlos' picture has all the "pitting" you would see in the full size original casting.

By the way you lucky European customers, I have the Snorkel Sherman available and in stock now, it will be up on the grey goose website later today.

As for the Priest wait 'til you see the workings on the gun and the interior I simply can't believe the level of detail is possible in this scale.

And those Highlander figures ain't too shabby either. I think I'm getting confused now between being a collector and a distributor, I want to keep them all.;)

Regards
Clive

Just ordered the Snork Sherman from Clive at Grey Goose, whose got these in stock now. Will be dispatched tomorrow, and hopefully being played with on Tuesday!

Detail on these looks fantastic. Already picturing dios for this piece.
